Edith Sitwell's Fanfare For Elizabeth is one of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It's unique, even though it takes a few pages to get used to Edith's writing style.
As an employee at Renishaw Hall where Edith grew up, I like to think I have a personal link to her family and to the Sitwell history and works. Also as an A-level History student, it provided me with a great insight into the mind and early life of Queen Elizabeth I.
This book is one for those who haven't read anything by Edith Sitwell, those who are studying Elizabeth or for someone who just wants a brilliant and short book to read at their own pleasure.
