Kirk Thomas Cameron is an American actor, director, and Christian evangelist. Kirk is best known as the lovable teen heartthrob Mike Seaver, of the award winning series Growing Pains. He entertained audiences worldwide as the charming troublemaker. He is also known to many Christians as "Buck Williams" from the Left Behind films -- based on the NY Times runaway best selling novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.
But much more noteworthy than his acting career was his conversion to Christianity. Kirk was not raised in a church-going home and describes himself as a devout atheist from a very young age. By the age of 14 he was so convinced there was no God that he laughed at those who thought there was. But that all changed one afternoon as he sat in his sports car pondering the first Gospel message he had ever heard. You can hear Kirk's testimony in his own words here: http://www.wayofthemaster.com/mp3/Kir...
Kirk continues to be actively involved in quality family entertainment and travels throughout the country, making the most of every opportunity to further the Gospel. He speaks in schools, churches and at community events. He is also a producer and host of The Way of the Master television series and radio program..
Kirk and his wife Chelsea have six children and live in southern California.
This is my first book focused on evangelism and I believe it's great. While I am a fan of Kirk Cameron [he is in fact the reason I first picked it up] and he significantly contributes to this book it is Ray seems to have a lot of experience in this area. It appears they make a brilliant team supplying this important message to the masses.
This book is about caring enough for the souls of others to get past the fear and evangelize to them. [The title really sums it up.] They provide simple non-offensive technics to lead conversations, even to strangers and non-Christians, to the saving message of Christ. I highly recommend it.
A biblical and effective way to share our faith with others. Not sure I will be open air preaching any time soon but I will certainly be looking for opportunities within my community to share the gospel.
I don't agree with everything this author says nor do I think his process will work for everyone, but it gave me some good basics and most of all greatly convicted me about how important it is to share the Gospel.
This is a good book for readers who need an introduction to biblical evangelism. Those who are familiar with Ray Comfort’s book “The Way of the Master” will not find anything radically new in this book but it is a book I still recommend to refresh one’s evangelism method if you subscribe to “the Way of the Master.” This work features different chapters going back and forth between the author Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. The law of God is described and explained as to why it is a powerful tool in evangelism. Both authors’ joy for sharing the Gospel will leap out of the pages and hopefully will stir the reader to witness. I appreciate the practical tips and pointers throughout the book. In particular, the book changed one of the tactics of my evangelism where in the past I use to ask people “Have you ever told a lie?” but now I ask people “In your life time, how many lies do you think you have told?” as a practical way of making someone think more about the severity of their sins with lying; I find the authors’ advice to be helpful because it avoid the hurdle that some people have that a few lies are no big deal. I also appreciated the personal stories that Cameron and Comfort shared in the book and some of them are stories I haven’t heard of before. I enjoyed hearing Kirk Cameron’s story of how he came to faith—and also how he discovered the Way of the Master and meeting up with Ray. I also enjoyed the account of both authors having a meal with Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade and them talking about biblical evangelism towards the end of Bright’s life—and how Bright affirmed the authors concern for a clear Gospel presentation that’s biblical. It is a good book that I would highly recommend both to veteran evangelists and those new to sharing their faith. I appreciated also that this book is not just about open air preaching and sharing to strangers—the book also discussed about sharing to family.
Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron are some on-fire brothers for Christ. I totally admire their amazing boldness for Christ. I believe this book has an evangelistic anointing on it. If you need to be set free from the fear of sharing your faith with others, you've got to read this book. I guarantee you'll be encouraged to be bold for Christ. This dying world needs us to share the truth about Jesus with them. Time is running out, folks.
For those interested in Christianity, this is a really good "how to" on witnessing about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Although Kirk Cameron gets first author billing, it's really Ray Comfort's book and the stories and examples are very interesting and helpful. Kirk Cameron adds a few anecdotes on the subject. I figured they used his name first to sell the book.
A great comprehensive approach to biblical evangelism (as opposed to modern methods of obtaining "decisions"). Includes a crash course at the end however it did not include the accompanying DVD. Sound biblical methods and encouraging stories. A must for anyone with a passion for the lost.
