Roughing It Vonna Harper A grand for a night's "work." Not bad at all. But money's not the real motivation. Living out a forbidden fantasy is. Yet the moment businesswoman Asia Kandell allows Ritter's buddies to wrap her nude, eager body in red rope, she's forced to ask herself what the heck she's gotten herself into. Granted, Ritter is both a famous ex-professional baseball player and a class-A hunk, but what insanity made her agree to be the main and only course at his birthday party, with a libido that's in danger of short-circuiting? As for Ritter, what red-blooded man could keep his hands off the deliciously naked bow-tied package waiting for him in this made-for-sex hotel room? Not him. Sometimes a man gets exactly the gift he asks for.
Under her "real" name, Vonna Harper has published more fiction than she can keep track of . These include category romances for the major players as well as the 'juicy' stuff. She also penned a series of well-received Native American historicals. One earned her finalist status in both the Women Writing the West Willa award and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. Before discovering romances, both erotic and otherwise, Vonna 'confessed' all kinds of nonsense for the confession magazines.
When asked about erotica research, she insists, "Of course I've time-traveled to the ancient Everglades, infiltrated bondage strongholds, done wilderness search and rescue, and spent a night trapped in a workout gym with Mr. Universe. How can I possibly write about something I haven't experienced?"
As for day jobs, "I've been a commercial pilot, brain surgeon, worked as a white-water river guide, bee keeper, snake charmer, and garbage collector."
Wow - I liked this A LOT! I think it did actually set my hair on fire.
A lucky chance meeting in a bar has thrown Asia and Ritter together and allowed them to explore their deepest darkest fantasies, never shared with anyone before. They fast learn that they have complimentary fantasies and are able to role play in a way that allows them to not only indulge their own fantasy but to enhance each others also.
I have never read anything with such a strong role-play element but I have to say it was absolutely incredible and quite breathtaking.
This is why I love erotic fiction. It allows you to explore and experience from a distance things that realistically would be far too dangerous in real life. Unless of course you are a rare lucky person who has someone that knows you very well and you can trust to help you indulge your deepest darkest wishes. It has certainly given me some food for thought!
Not a fan. While I have no issue with h's desire to pretend to be a submissive call girl, H's ready acceptance with all the assumptions was an issue. H took quite a while to make sure h was actually ok with the situation. Then they move quickly into an evolving role play that was beyond unbelievable for a first interaction. h even calls H master. Insert multiple eye rolls. And knowing H is thinking that h's 100 lb body wasn't good enough for him - very annoying.
It was almost sort of an intro to master and slave. The book might have been cute if I hadn't been in the guy's head when he was thinking about how the girl wasn't his type (at first), or when his knees were bothering her. It sort of took me out of the fantasy by being almost too real to a fault.
I also wasn't crazy about the cutaways to the fantasy scenes that were only in the man's head, so they weren't actually happening. I want to read about what the actual couple is doing, not what the guy is fantasizing about that isn't going to happen. But, maybe that's just me.
3 stars means the book was decent though, so I'm not completely knocking it. The sex was hot, and I like the fantasy of a woman being tied up and left abandoned to be found. That was a nice little angle.
Too much faul words like wh*re, c*nt and other offensive to women words that offended me and all self-respecting women. I was left very disturbed. Another minus that this work has is the all-fake feeling it had, not only were the characters' relationship totally 2 dimensional, the whole situation felt pushed and unreal. Nome of the character's had any thoughts of consequences, hell, Ritter didn't even know the name of the woman he f**ked until later. And he certainly didn't care enough about Asia to set some rules to keep them both safe. I most certainly didn't like this book, I'd recommend it to brainless cats and their excrements, sorry, but this isn't even a book, not sure what it is.
P.S. What sane person calls his child Ritter? It sounds like dog food
A good erotic fantasy, and they really talk a lot imagining it!
