This story is about a boy and a girl that were twins and ended up playing basketball together. Mia, the sister, has never played on a team before, and she was so excited to play with her brother, Marcus and her best friend, Gabbie. Their father got them a special gift each for support. Marcus got his favorite basketball player's jersey and Mia got a mini basketball charm for her bracelet. She ends up wearing it for every game and wins. Before the championship game she loses it and does not want to play because she feels she will do bad. She did great in the game and made some shots. They won and her dad found their bracelet.

B. There is positive and negative comments towards the illustrations. A couple things I do like about them is that they are every several pages to give you a little something to work with and put a picture to words. Another thing I like is how detailed and look like they are pencil sketches. The one thing I am fond of is that they are in black and white. I, personally, love color so unless the theme is black and white, like The House in the Night, then I am more into colors.
C. On page 17 there is a sketch of Mia and Marcus practicing outside, and Mia has the ball up like she is about to shoot it. I think its a great picture with the fact that the last picture was on page 4 at the beginning of the story. This type of setup helps the reader connect tot he book even more.
This is a great book for teaching students to never give up and to have faith in yourself that you can do it. You do not need a lucky charm to make you good. I loved this book.
