The sequel to the bestselling book about leaving the UK for a new life in the Yukon, Dorian and his growing family get gold fever, start to stake land claims and prospect for gold. Follow them along the learning curve about where to look for gold and how to live in this harsh climate. It shows that with good humor and resilience life can only get better.
Vital reading for those who want to know what happened after the first book. But far less gripping - there's less of a clear story arc and it peters out in parts.
A completely different narrative style than the first volume, but totally worth it because of the story and how Dorian Amos describes his surroundings and makes you clearly picture it.
As in book one you are immediately hooked. I felt like I was there with this amazing family in all the trials and tribulations Dorian writes about. Every word is from the heart. I could feel the passion of panning for gold and so much wanted him to find. Roll on the next book please.
