You Never Can Tell has a unique and interesting premise. I was drawn to it because it sounded fun, romantic and unpredictable (which it was). The author, Ellen Conford, made the book funny and sympathetic at the same time. I enjoyed the story.

When handsome soap opera star, Brick Preston, leaves his glamorous TV life to attend high school, he turns up in Kate's algebra class. But is she too star-struck to be the friend he needs and craves?

Too starstuck on the tv character when her crush shows up in class will she be enough of a friend for real person he is. Ok story.... My one daughter thought it humorous but it's been years since I read it last...

Was disappointed in Kate at the end. I think Thad deserved an apology too, but instead she reflected the discussion back on how. Cute read, but the characters will drive any logical person mad.

My absolute favorite book in junior high. I still pick it up and re read it once and awhile. A gem I can hardly wait to share with my daughters!
