Another reread as an adult. I love this author's writing style. It connected with me as a child and as an adult I could still empathize with the characters. Wallis is like any child starting in a new school and learning about themselves while trying to fit in. I felt sorry for Ruth and I was happy to see Wallis grow up and treat her with decency.

I loved this book so much when I was a kid that I've never forgotten it. Can't wait to revisit the books from my childhood!
