Hilarious. Junie B. Jones never fails to amuse. I have read this out loud to children, I have read this out loud to adults - I've never had someone read or listen to a JBJ book without laughing. Park captures a child's exuberance perfectly.

In this episode, JBJ's beloved furry mittens are 'stolen.' She goes to the lost and found to look for them and basically sees it as a free store of goodies. She then has a little conflict about turning in a multi-color pen she finds - is 'finders keepers losers weepers' the rule, or not?

This sounds boring and moralizing, doesn't it? Well IT'S NOT. It's really funny.

SAMPLE:
I showed my mittens to my teacher.
Her name is Mrs.
She has another name, too. But I just like Mrs. and that's all.
"Feel them, Mrs.," I said. "Feel how soft they are."
I rubbed them on her face.
"Oooh, they ARE soft, Junie B.," she said. "Be sure and put them in your jacket pockets so they won't get lost, okay?"
I skipped very happy to my seat.
"Yeah, only I'm not even going to lose them," I said to just myself. "I am going to wear them right on my hands. The whole livelong day. 'Cause I love these guys, that's why."
I took off my attractive winter jacket. And sat down at my table.

Just then, I got up from my chair. And I skipped to my boyfriend named Ricardo.
I tickled him under the chin with my softy hands of fur.
"This is what fur hands look like when they're tickling you under your chin," I said.
Then I grinned and grinned. 'Cause that boy brings out the best in me, that's why.

My son is struggling with reading and he needed an adventure book. The Magic Treehouse books are still a bit much for him, so his teacher said to just pick whatever would closely fit the theme. We settled on Junie B. and we went with this one because we thought maybe a crook might imply an adventure? LOL Anyway, my girls read these books when they were younger and loved them. I had my son read this book to me and was impressed that most of the words he was able to read well, but there are several bigger words that I wouldn't expect a 1st or 2nd grader to know (whom I'd assume these books are aimed at as the audience). I do love Junie B. as a character and her personality that the author lets shine through in the stories. That said, though, it is hard for a youngster still developing their reading skills to have to try to sort through Junie B.'s made-up words. My son kept telling me, "That's not a real word, though, Mom." Again, I appreciate that the books are fun and these made-up words help show Junie B's personality, but it was hard for my son and he struggled at times because of it, really slowed down his reading. Overall, I was impressed with how well he did with this book, even laughing at Junie B's antics and yelling the lines when Junie B. was yelling. I will definitely have him read more of these books.

I stumbled across Junie B Jones in the “I’m with the banned” section of my Libby so I decided to check her out and see what the problem was and there’s literally no reason Junie B Jones (or any book) should be banned. If you’re someone who think JBJ should be banned then you need a hobby or something.

Also a classic! What a way to spend 30 minutes giggling with Junie B Jones and her silly ways! She’ll always have a special place in my heart!!

Short and sweet. I have heard mixed reviews so I wanted to check it out for myself. I find her to be comical, and the moral of the story was a good one! 4 stars because I don't love her being the narrator because of the grammatical errors that come with a "kid writing."
