very basics of ipad things i figured out on my own before reading this. kind of pointless

Very little here that can't be figured out by playing with the Pad.

Yes, I read the iPad User Guide. I was bored, okay? But I learned how to not break my iPad while trying to plug it into my old laptop... o.o
