WARNING: This is not by any means a stand alone. Regardless of what you may have heard, you really have to read the books that preceded it. This is the first book in the series that I've ready and I was sooo lost, lost just like India was after she left her home to run for her life after a Hunter killed her whole pack. Never the less, while the story was hard to follow in the beginning, once I had an understanding of who was who the story was very interesting. There were some holes in the story that may have been explained in previous books, but the burning question that I have for the author is this; was crazy chowder Chase's son that he thought was killed in the werewolf/Hunter attack?
I did find that the without having the back story on most of the characters I really liked India, Chase and the secondary questions. However, once Chase and India accepted each other, it felt like the author was done with them so she could concentrated on the conflict that brought them together and the do a follow up from previous stories. I would have loved to have read more moments of them together, the best part of their romance was their dreaming of each other. The story itself was interesting, enough to keep me interested. I'm going to definitely read the other books in the series
