Casino owner Ian Westmoreland thought he had seen the last of Brooke Chamberlain, until she checked into his resort claiming to need a little R & R. Brooke had betrayed him years before, and Ian was willing to bet there was more to her visit than she would admit. No woman had even come close to igniting the heat and passion inside him as Brooke once had. And if Ian was going to discover what Brooke was hiding, what better way than through seduction?
But in this game of bedroom cat and mouse, the stakes were very high. Would Ian's ultimate gamble pay off?

I liked the fact that they were a previous couple who work out their differences. The heist at the end kind of reminded me a bit of Ocean's Eleven, although it happened way too quick. Ian formerly owned a Riverboat and now owns a casino. Brooke is an FBI agent who is at his casino to make sure he's not doing anything illegal, as his former business partner was arrested for illegal dealings in the past. Which is why Brooke and Ian are no longer together. She was the agent back then with his former partner and he didn't like not being told about her case. Now she fears the same thing will happen, so she lies to him about the reason she's there.
First of all this is my first book from Ashley and jaquavis I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I'm a huge fan of street literature and they did not disappoint me. there was a lot going on with all of the characters, however I wish there could have been more about the father the leader of the family. but that guy Mecca he is going to be trouble for the family.
Contemporary Romance, African American & Black Women's Fiction, Western Romance, Western Fiction, African American & Black Romance Miniseries The Westmorelands (Book #10)
Brooke Chamberlain is an FBI agent whose job is very important to her. She is sent on an informal assignment to a casino/spa to keep an eye on things because of some chatter about illegitimate dealings. Brooke is looking forward to some R & R, but doesn't want to run into the casino's owner, Ian Westmoreland. Their past relationship was a casualty of her career when she arrested his business partner.
Ian has worked hard trying to forget Brooke and doesn't trust the situation when she turns up at his casino. One thing they both can be assured of though, it that neither one is over the other.
A very quick moving story. I've read a few Jackson books now, and she hasn't failed to entertain. 5 stars.
I simply love Ian and Brooke. Their love story could really be one to touch any couples life. After being apart for 4 years, their love for one another still stood the test of time. Ian's love and respect for Brooke is what a lot of real relationships are missing today. Kudos to Ian for realizing his mistakes, and for going after the woman that he loved. A five star read!
These are pretty formulaic but they are just so sweet and fun. I also love that I never have any "hang on, did he just rape her?" moments in Brenda's books. Refreshing change to the genre.
“Ian’s Ultimate Gamble: Book 9, The Westmoreland Legacy”
Written by: Brenda Jackson Narrated by: Jamie Lincoln Smith
I’ve always have been big Fan of Brenda Jackson since I read Book 3 of the Westmorelands. I found it at a bookstore. After reading that book I was hooked and went to find Book 1 and 2 so I would be caught up. Mrs. Jackson writing have always been sensual and enticing. She draws in her readers with the very descriptive love screen, but at the same time keeping it clean.
With “Ian’s Ultimate Gamble: Book 9,” she brought two lovers back together for a suppose to be closing to the relationship but it turned out to be anything but. The fire between these two crossed lovers ignited a flame that definitely still burned for each other.
The narration by Jamie Lincoln Smith was HOT! His performance was stimulating and he carried the characters voices throughout the book to GREAT HEIGHT.
Mrs. Jackson did it again for me in this next installment of The Westmorelands. I recommend this book for sure. And, if you haven’t read any of the past stories, I highly suggest reading them!!!
4 stars. I was a bit worried in the beginning there because I was not feeling Ian nor Brooke. They both annoyed me but they quickly grew on me and I fell in love with them. This is a second chance romance and they are both still dealing with hurt from the last time they were in a relationship together and it was great watching them both slowly let their guards down and trust each other again. They have undeniable chemistry and they are both great characters together and apart. It's another great installment to the series.
I didn't like it that much, I don't like that hero was an idiot and wouldn't see heroine's point of view 4 years before and then proceeded to sleep with tons of other women (up til 9 months before start of book due to him opening up casino). I liked the heroine but really wanted her to have found someone else to fall in love with because hero was so unreasonable in breaking up with her and then he slept with so many other women for 3 years straight. Np.
I think this is one of my favorites along with the chase is on, and quade's babies. The story doesnt drag, but doesn't move too fast. I am a sucker for the meant to be lovers' stories though! Well written Mrs Jackson!
Ian and Brooke are reunited when Brooke goes to Ian's casino under the guise of being on vacation, but she's on assignment. Ian can't stand to be in the same room as Brooke, but things change when he gets the idea to get her out of his system. It backfires, but the gamble was worth the risk.
I didn't think Ian would ever off his high horse and see that what he saw as Brooke's betrayal she was protecting him and his business. So he puts them both through four years of heartache.
The story of love revisited amid indecision and perceived mistrust. Watching the love that never ended, just paused, emerge again was pleasantly sweet. The capture of the jewelry and precious art thieves was a bonus for me.
I am enjoying the Westmorelands Series. I am up to #16 in the series. They have not disappointed. This is one of favorites in the Westmorelands Series. I looked forward to coming back for more with this one!
Second chance romance. Ian was a goner the minute he saw Brooke again. It was cute how he thought he could get her out of his system. This book was really good.
This was a DNF for me. I didn't like the audible version. Dude's voice was not interesting and neither was the story line. This is only book out of the series I couldn't finish
Ian, now owner of a casino meets up with Brooke, his ex/ FBI agent, who is back to secretly save his business and his reputation. She is undercover on vacation to possibly detect an illegal gambling operation and prevent the threat of Tara's diamonds being stolen at her surprise birthday party. The two create sparks long thought dead and buried, but Brooke's job comes between them again. Dare and his family makes him realize that he is once again losing the love of his life over his insecurities. Well developed characters, and an exciting plot climaxing into the pilfering triplets being revealed by Brooke!

HOORAY...I'm FINALLY all caught up with the Westmoreland series...all the old and new books have been read...all that's left to do is sit and wait for the new stories to come out about the Colorado Westmorelands...I enjoyed Ian and Brooke's journey back to an INTENSE & PASSIONATE love affair...and despite Ian's best efforts I was glad to see he just couldn't seem to get Brooke out of his system...another SPICY romance...a little mystery...and another BIG Westmoreland style family affair...I can't wait to experience more of Mrs. Jackson's brand of Happily-Ever-After.
Another wonderful and breathtaking Westmoreland love story. I am so thankful that Ian finally came to his senses as far as Brooke was concerned. His inability to trust her decision as an FBI AGENT in not one situation but two, cost him ( and her alike) four long years of being together. He needed to realize that in both situations her love for him made her make decisions to keep him safe from harm. This story truly took my breath away with the raw passion that was between them. This story and the series are must reads!
This is a Westmoreland book. There is nothing not to like. Ian Westmoreland exudes all the charm inherent in Westmoreland men. Brooke Chamberlain exudes all the sensuality and strength attractive to a Westmoreland man. As in every good story there is conflict but the ending is worth the read.
Ian's Ultimate Gamble. This book was a good read. The characters were interesting. The relationship between Ian and Brooke was rocky because of the distrust had for Brooke years ago. When they reunite, they find out that their love was still there and to rekindle that love they have to trust each other. But can Ian do that? This is a must read to the Westmoreland series.
