The truth could make their one perfect night crumble into dust. It’s Friday night and advertising agent Stella Sinclair’s plan to catch the red-eye back to New York is fading with the Montana sunset. She’ll do anything to land this western-wear company’s account, but what’s she going to do all weekend in this Podunk town? On the way back to the hotel to watch paint peel from the walls, she makes a quick stop in a local bar to answer the call of nature. One slippery spot later, her stiletto heels are flying—and her fall is broken by the most delicious cowboy she’s ever laid eyes on. Heaven just dropped into JD Foster’s arms. City girls—and city life—aren’t his style, which made it easy to skip out on his grandfather’s business meeting earlier today. For this classical beauty, though, he just might make an exception. A drink, a dance, and their chemistry takes the reins. Then JD remembers why Stella’s name seems familiar. She’s courting the family business. JD wants her sighing in pleasure tonight, but for the right reasons. And he’s not above withholding a vital detail or two in order to seal the deal… This book contains lies, explicit sex, and betrayal. All necessary elements to light a fire between two people and lay the foundation for some really hot makeup sex.
Born and raised in Arizona, I guess you'd call me a desert rat. Well, actually, I'd be a desert rat that loves the mountains and lakes. Arizona gives me great pleasure, because if I'm not at the computer writing or buried nose deep in a book you'll find me on a four-wheeler, or a jet ski, or being pulled behind my 26’ Monterey boat on an oblong tube called a ‘hot dog’ laughing my ass off. In fact, my family says I have an unnerving cackle cutting through the waves--similar to a witch!
Yes, that's right this witch has a family... Bill is my wonderful husband of twenty-two years. Tia, Samantha and Ashley are my three beautiful girls and my greatest accomplishments to date. And the light of my life is a devilishly handsome grandson, Dusty.
As writing is a passion with many—it’s an obsession with me. Who knew that the wild things going on in my head someone would actually read? But I'm thankful you do and I hope you find joy and entertainment in my sometimes—okay most of the time—risqué ramblings.
short but very hot read...but lies and omissions are not good people, they always comes back to bite you in the ass.
Here is my synopsis - the city girl (Stella) is in the country on business, has a weekend fling with a cowboy (JD) who turns out to be the grandson of the person she pitched a business proposal to, which of course he does not mention (and she finds out before he can tell her)said grandfather then tells city girl she will get the account if she convinces grandson to take over the business sooner rather than later. They both realize they are falling for each other but how can it work, later that night she does not let him stay with her in attempt to distance herself. He comes to her hotel baning on the door to take her somewhere, turns out to be his grandfathers place where he had been previously to tell his grandfather he would take over, grandfather makes a comment to Stella about how fast she works...JD thinks he was played and storms off....Stella leaves, then leaves Montana and JD realizes he was an ass. Grandfather steps up to try to get them back together and all is right with the world again.
okay...this book made you make some emotional leaps. The characters fall in love VERY quick. And make a life altering decision pretty damn fast IMO. The book was so small they had to.
But the writing was good, the sex was smokin, and there were some really likable (albeit stereotypical) characters.
Stella is sent to pitch her company and runs into JD who is trying to not run said company. Of course they run into eachother, screw each other's brains out, and fall for each other. There is a conflict caused by Grandad, that afterwards, nobody even seems to mention his "big betrayal", so the actual plot left me a little cold. But the joining of the couple, and their emotional ties were very pleasant to read.
Very sweet, cute, smexy story.
This one is a 3.5 stars. Not quite a four, but better than a 3. I won't read it again, unless I am stuck somewhere with just my iPod for a couple hours. Then this is an easy read to pass the time.
One word that describes Stella Sinclair is city girl. From the beginning of the book you can tell she is no country girl. Now JD Foster may be all cowboy but deep down his heart knows when it’s found its soul mate.
These two were a hoot to read and Mackenzie McKade did an awesome job of creating deception, a little betrayal and a hot round of sex to make it worth reading. The chemistry between these two was all there and just waiting to combust to something awesome.
In addition, Ms. McKade did a great job in showing that even a little piece of heaven like Montana can change a girl’s attitude with the right cowboy in her arms. The way JD talks to Stella is like she can do anything she sets her mind to and in A Little White Lie anything is possible with Stella even it means risking her heart to a devilish, sinful and gorgeous cowboy like JD Foster.
This book has two of my favorite things; a hot cowboy and hot-sex with that hot cowboy. If you have ever read anything by Mackenzie McKade then you know what to expect. If you haven't read everything by this author...what are you waiting for? She is on my must have list.
Both characters in this story were well established, especially since it was a short story. I got just enough information to pull me into the story. The interaction between these characters was well written, as always. There was a lot of heart in this romance. It is another great story.
This was an enjoyable, short read! Stella drops into the small town to do a business deal and meets up with JD, the hunky cowboy. Steamy sex ensues and then JD finds out Stella is intown to do business with his Grandfather....he decides not to tell her incase she decides against sleeping with him.....
Its an easy read. The characters are good and believable and the plot kept me interested. Im keeping it on my Kindle anyway!
short, which is a good thing. don't know how this book would have done in full-length. there may have had to be an actual plot and stuff.
taken for what it is - sex scenes with a bit of unbelievable story scattered in there - its an ok book. but don't try to make it more. because then you'd have to wonder how a career-minded city girl, who initially wanted out of the po-dunk town, does a 180 after one day of fishing.
It was boring to be frank. Anticlimactic too. Dull, drab, what ever you want to call it. Too perfect. Not enough conflict. Nothing exciting. The sex scenes were normal and not very hot. It was short, but in a bad way. I will not be reading it again.
Smexy cowboy story!! I love a steamy read!! I would love to see more in this story! Great story and super hot & heavy!! Great characters who make the story thoroughly entertaining! It was a touch stereotype but I would have loved to have more to the book. I always find a good book too short!
A quick read, just enough steam to keep it interesting. This would have made a great complete book, the author had plenty of room to fully develop the relationships between all of the characters.
Up-and-coming advertising agent Stella Sinclair is determined to score the Toliver account, but to get it, she’s stuck in Montana for a weekend. Stella doesn’t know what she’s going to do in the small town, but she does know she has to find a bathroom because there’s no way she’ll make it all the way back to her hotel. When Stella stops at a local bar, she’s saved from a fall by gorgeous cowboy JD Foster. Instant attraction sparks between the pair, but what Stella doesn’t know is that JD happens to be a member of the family whose business she’s courting. JD wants Stella, but for the right reasons, so he doesn’t tell her everything about himself. After all, what’s the harm in one little white lie?
A Little White Lie is a sexy romance that’ll capture you hook, line, and sinker. Stella, a fish-out-of-water city girl in Montana, is smart, funny, and sweet, which makes her immensely likeable. As for JD…get out a fan – Mackenzie McKade sure does know how to write some seriously hot cowboys. I found JD as every bit as irresistible as Stella did and together those two practically burned the pages of the book to ash. A Little White Lie zips along at a rapid pace, but though it’s a fast read, it’s a thoroughly satisfying one. I absolutely adored A Little White Lie and am thankful to Ms. McKade for penning yet another utterly delicious cowboy hero.
