The premier volume in a unique annual series gathers the year's best essays, articles, and poems from a variety of religious and spiritual traditions, including the writing of Anne Lamott, Nancy Mairs, Thomas Moore, and Francine Prose. Original.
This collection of essays and poems is an eclectic and delightful read. From the overtly spiritual (i.e., "Remember the Sabbath Day to Keep it Holy") to poignant biographical essays (i.e., "The Old Morgue") the essays cover a wide variety of spiritual traditions, approaches, and values. It is both refreshing and thought-provoking to share the spritual journey and perspectives of others. I look forward to reading future collections in this series.
Interesting assortment of essays with a few poems spicing up the collection. Due to the topic they were not dated. Some I liked better than others. And my heart was expanded in the reading.
