Aunt Ethel finds a lost dog and gets very attached to it, even though she makes Jane take it for walks and bath it. The inn gets some long term guests, a family from town who are waiting for their house to be built after their old one burned down. Everyone wants to do something to help the family so they have a house shower for the mother and the Angels group makes a photo album of every old picture they can find to give to the daughter. The other guest is a lady who was a missionary and her parents were friend with the sister's dad. The school is trying to put on a play and needs a director so the missionary takes over.

Another great Tales from Grace Chapel Inn book.

This one about a family recovering from a house fire that took everything, a dog that shows up at Aunt Ethel's house and a missionary trying to find where she fits in now that she has left the foreign mission field she was working in.

A wonderful story. Great characters as usual. A great message of giving to others and looking for God's will in our lives.

"I've watched fires and hurricanes wipe out buildings and villages, Tessa said, staring off toward the horizon. " Such things always make me think of the awesome power of God. Man is helpless against nature's fury, and yet God created the entire universe by the power of His Word, and He can restore our joy, even when things seem hopeless." pg 27

"I was thinking about Laura Bridgman's life and her struggles, as I watched the young people perform last week. Laura's illness and handicaps caught Dr. Howe's attention, and he developed his method for teaching Laura. The fame of his success attracted Charles Dickens. Years later Dickens' writing led Helen Keller's parents to the institute and Anne Sullivan, who became Helen's teacher. God's hand was clearly at work in their lives. Just as clearly as his had has guided me. pg 229

I cannot express how much I enjoy this series. You a part of their close family network and community. Acorn Hill is a town you want to live in. It is what you imagine small town life should be. Faith, family and friends is what it is all truly about. This story of being grateful and remembering what is important is a must read.

Acorn Hill, always a great place to visit. Through the play, the kids did, it was a joy to learn about Laura Bridgeman as well as Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller. God does plan all our moments.
