The United States is winning the war on terror, most days. We will continue to do so, until the day we declare victory, or turn the battle over to the governments of the countries hosting these wars. It is uncertain what will happen after that. There is a good chance that terror will resurface sometime, and that battle may again take place in our own backyard. The future enemy may well have better resources and advanced weapons. North Korea is testing missles that could reach our shores. Nuclear weapons will likely spread to many nations in the not too distant future. This story suggests what might happen to some of our grandchildren, if that battle is fought in 2049. Will Jennifer Burton and Brad Hoolihan claim victory, or will it require something more, to bring lasting peace to a war torn world?

I haven't read science fiction in a long time but this is a Baker City doc and I was intrigued by his book presentation in Baker last week. HE did an awesome job -- lots of plot lines and complexities for a first book. Very science based (which was one of his goals) and nicely balanced emotionally. I am awed this was his first book. I enjoyed the read.

Interesting scenaros of what could occur when the first nukes are fired, resulting in preditable retalitation. Aside from dipping into SIFI in several places, it is a look into what could someday occur. A cast of characters and a cast of nations. 1st book by a new author. Enjoyed it, I would have used a wider varation of much needed 4 letter expressions. (I have a strong repertoir). In the spirit of full disclosure the author is a friend and fellow pilot. Also check out 2030-- a more. peaceful but believable -albeit far fetched-possible outcome of our country in 20+years
