Outrageous John

Rate this book
When he was old, the saddest thing John heard was from other retirees who would say ‘I’ve lived a quiet life and never been any bother to anyone’. John would shake his head in pity and say ‘I’ve lived an outrageous life and made lots of mistakes, but at least I’ve lived’. This biography is in memory of my father's colourful, surprising and sometimes tragic life. A gay man negotiating a hostile world through electronics and the 1960s London music scene. .

Another excellent and tragic read about a married gay man living in a hostile world into the first years of the 21st century. You feel heartbroken for John with the many difficulties she faced and survived. His daughter wrote and excellent tribute to her father.
