About the author

Cyril Pedrosa began his career in animation, working on the Disney films "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Hercules." He has since become a rising star in a new kind of graphic storytelling, combining the influences of animation and the literary traditions of Borges, García Márquez, and Tolkien to create a unique visual handwriting.

Recueil de chroniques d'un écolo publiant chez Fluide Glacial. Alors, comme c'est Cyril Pedrosa, je l'ai pris sans trop réfléchir à dire vrai. Les dessins et les couleurs sont vraiment chouettes, on ne peut pas se plaindre. Par contre, l'humour sur les écolos (même si c'est de l'autodérision), ce n'est pas très marrant. Ca tombe à plat deux fois sur trois et on ne se fend vraiment pas la poire. A ne pas le lire, vous ne ratez rien. S'il faut 175 litres d'eau pour fabriquer une bande dessinée au format classique en moyenne, ne pas l'acheter, c'est faire un beau geste pour la planète et je suis sûr que ce bon vieux Cyril ne vous en voudra pas.

Een grappig stripboek over een gezin en hoe ze zo groen mogelijk proberen te zijn (nou ja, voornamelijk de vrouw gaat er vol voor, de man vindt het vaak wel best). Ik lag regelmatig dubbel om de dingen die dit gezin meemaakt (zoals dat zwembadje, de fiets, en de kinderen die gewoon in publiek de mond opendoen om papa te laten weten dat hij niet groen bezig is), maar ik moet ook zeggen dat ik het soms wel iets te ver vond gaan. Maar ja, ieder zijn meug. :P
Die ene man die steeds langskwam en maar gif wilde spuiten? Kan die niet even wegblijven van iedereen? Bah, wat een vieze man. Je gaat toch niet zomaar gif spuiten, vooral als je weet dat mensen dat niet willen?

Très fun à lire, j’ai beaucoup ri et certaines planches sont vraiment chouettes. J’ai aussi adoré le côté très actuel des sujets abordés et j’ai d’ailleurs appris quelques p’tites choses grâce à cette BD !

A collection of short one- or two-page sketches about the daily life of the author himself, centered around the topics of family life and green/ecological thinking. On the plus side, Pedrosa is a gifted graphic artist, his characters and compositions are well-done and full of life. But we remain strangely distant to the characters and their problems, even though it's supposedly his own family. Everybody keeps being stressed-out, frustrated, often hypocritical. Pedrosa tries to get a point across about how hard it is to live a family life where you keep a garden without chemical poisons, where you put food on the table that hasn't flown halfway across the world and polluted the air in the process, where you use a bike instead of a car, and so on. But he doesn't tell us about why they are so keen on being green, what their little guilty sins are, or when they get to enjoy nature and their love for the environment. It's mostly cynical and not very funny, alas.

J'ai bien aimé cette bande dessinée. J'ai trouvé ça très drôle et "ça sent le vécu". J'ai retrouvé des situations bien réelles de la vie quotidienne.
