Jaume made the most unfortunate mistake of seducing Ysabel and taking her virginity — a sacrilege for which the sentence was death. Enraged upon finding this out, Joudain cleaved Jaume’s head in two with an axe and then raised him from the dead to continue his duties. Not long afterward, Joudain decided that, because the twin footmen no longer “matched,” he had no choice but to inflict the same fate on Miqèl — who now looks exactly like his older brother.

This heavily revised and greatly expanded deluxe edition of The Cursed Chateau is an adventure for use with Lamentations of the Flame Princess Weird Fantasy Role-Playing and other traditional role-playing games.
The story has potential and the illustrations are superb. The concept of the setting is fun too... as well as 'Lord Joudain's fun table'. Unfortunately, the characters lack interest and subtlety. The author could have further developed their secrets and relationships. The scenario itself is almost non-existent, being only a dungeon with random events. It will ask for some work to adapt it into something playable and truly original.
This is a haunted house adventure for the Lamentations of the Flame Princess Weird Fantasy Role-Playing Game. It is for low level characters. There are 88 pages and this does include stat blocks. The maps include the maze, the grounds, and the chateau (upper, lower, and basement). There are 57 "rooms" in the chateau and the rules also include a random event table (100 possibilities). It is interesting that the boss "monster" does not want to kill all of the characters that enter. He has other motivations. The game system I used to play this was Engines & Empires. I did use a solo engine so that I could solo it. I had five first level characters and my fighter died (suffocation). This was a lot of fun.
