What a delightfully humorous read! Every page was jam-packed with hilarious little details (including 2+ Doctor Who references :D) both in the illustrations and the dialogue. I enjoyed the puns very much, though they are a chore to read aloud. :P The stories were actually pretty true to the originals I’ve known and loved, but this Sherlock did solve things in a slightly more roundabout and “gonzo” way. ;) As you can see from the cover, he smokes a bubble pipe, and there are many more jokes and references like this. ;) Also, 221B is so messy, it's too gross for words. XD

No cartoon characters were murdered in these stories. Very young children may be disturbed by a scary snake and the dragon-like Moriarty.

Altogether, this was a delightful jaunt! I’m so glad my younger sisters made me read it. :D

I am a big Muppet fan, so when I found this at a book sale, I picked it up. I thought it was cute, but I would have probably appreciated it more if I knew more about Sherlock Holmes.

I've had a chance to read the first two Sherlock Holmes stories and watch one episode of the Netflix adaptation. So now I have revisited Muppet Sherlock Holmes with a better result. I still thought it was very corny, but I do understand the characterizations a bit more. There is also some bonus material in the back of the book that I don't remember reading before. There are excerpts from other Muppet adaptations of classics such as Snow White and other Disney Graphic novels that I am now interested in reading.

As wacky as you’d expect, with lots of clever references and without getting too consistently meta. Also develops an interesting cross-narrative for previöusly unrelated short stories. Obviöusly it’s not that funny that even in as Male-centered a universe as Holmes, Piggy has to play multiple roles, but the authors find an interesting new way to deal with it. (Personally, I think Miss Hudson would be a natural role for Muppet Show season-one regulars Hilda or Mildred, but I wasn’t consulted.)

This seemed like a really fun concept, but the execution felt a little lacking. It's heavy on puns, but light on plot and character development. It might be worth checking out for the novelty if you're a fan of the Muppets, but there's better stuff out there.

Essentially what you'd expect if Fozzie Bear had written the original Sherlock stories. Plenty of puns, though overall, it was a bit too complicated for my son at his age, but he seemed to enjoy it nonetheless. It made for a nice introduction to Sherlock Holmes in general.

This was pretty good! Very punny, as muppets often are. It was enjoyable to read with loveable (and not so loveable) characters filling the roles.

Look, this comic series has a very niche market in people who are big time Muppet fans. Do not even approach if you're not because this is so goofy and ridiculous. There are an insane amount of puns, most of them really bad. The characterization is pretty great, and they do recognizably use Sherlock stories. This is a good time, and I was amused while reading it. The art is really cute in this, but the humor is just over the top ridiculous.

Read with caution!

Super cute, even if most of the plots don't... really make sense (well, what do you expect, really, with Gonzo as Holmes?). I liked Miss Piggy and Kermit in their roles quite a bit, though, and I enjoyed some of the takes on the classic stories. The only disappointment was the last story, which was very abrupt. They ought to have split it into two stories, to give both of the plot lines their full due. Nonetheless, very cute take on both Holmesiana and the Muppets.

I have a mild obsession with everything Holmes. Of course, when I was wandering though the local library and was picking out some graphic novels to read with my son at bedtime, this was something that immediately jumped out at me and screamed that we needed to pick it up.

It is a fun Holmesian romp through the streets of Victorian London, and tries to hit up A Scandal in Bohemia, The Red Headed League, and The Musgrove Ritual in one volume and three parts. They, of course, all tie together at the Richenbach Falls at the end (this is a little bit of a spoiler, but not really as every Holmes adaptation of late has to end there by my observation).

It was a lot of fun to read, and the Muppets irreverence really shines through, but I am not sure this is entirely a kids book - my son was enthralled with it, but I am not sure he was really engaged with it. I loved it tremendously, both for a love of the Muppets and Holmes, but I think it would be lost on many who doesn't have the same Holmes appreciation that I do. I also think that there were times that I felt that the writers and artists were not entirely doing either Holmes or Muppets very well (as a matter of fact, there was only two places where Kermit appeared presentable, and the rest was a horrific nightmarish distortion - not that I could do any better, I assure you, I could not - but they were really humorously salvador-daliesque is some places), but my passion and enjoyment of the both of them trumped the shortcomings.

Fun read, but not really for kids under 10 (not for any reason but that it might confuse or bore them).

I loved this installment of the Muppet parodies series (Muppet Snow White, Muppet Peter Pan, Muppet Robin Hood, etc.)! This one is more episodic than some of the others, but it fits in well with the "Sherlock Holmes" theme in that there are several mysteries to solve; as it turns out, there is also a larger story arc that spans the entire graphic novel. Lots of fun! It's also interesting in that Kermit is not Holmes in this GN (you'll never guess who is!)

Oh, this was fun. I admit I only picked it up initially because I like the artist, Amy Mebberson, and like Sherlock Holmes. I hadn't watched any Muppets-related in years, so I'd forgotten what they were like: funny.

Familiarity with Sherlock Holmes isn't needed, but it's a bonus since you can tell what the cases are based on. The stories are funny, punny, and jokes abound. As a Sherlock Holmes fan, I also enjoyed the fact that while Gonzo as Holmes was smart, this Lestrade also wasn't played as stupid. Makes sense, since it was Kermit.

Also: Miss Piggy. Win.

The only problem was that there's not mooooore!

I loved precisely EVERY WORD of this trade. It had all the fabulously ridiculous puns of the best of the Muppet Show and references galore (police boxes that are bigger than you'd think inside...), with my complete love of Sherlock Holmes. They also picked the very best of the stories to distort completely: The Speckled Band, A Scandal in Bohemia, The Red-Headed League, The Musgrave Ritual, and (briefly) The Final Problem. Ignore completely that it was published by BOOM Kids!, this is something anyone with the slightest sense of humour could enjoy.

I've read most of the Muppets books (Boom! editions). This one stood out because it is tremendously funny. The comic sensibility of the Muppet Show is captured well in several of the books (especially Roger Langridge's efforts), but the truly laugh-out-loud moments came the heaviest and most frequently here.

Now I want them to actually make this one into a movie: what could be better than Gonzo and Fozzie as Sherlock and Watson? Gonzo was perfect for the part: solving everything with his absentminded ways. And Kermit as Inspector LeStrade who smartly nudges Holmes in the right direction. The puns abound as usual, and they even included fun puzzles at the end of each issue!

I love the Muppets and Sherlock Holmes, so this should, have been a slam dunk for me, but it just doesn't work. It's not funny and it almost doesn't seem like they even needed to use the Muppets, so little of their actual personalities shine through the characters they're portraying. So disappointing.

Another fun book where Muppet characters reinact classic literature (there's also a King Arthur, Robin Hood, and Peter Pan). The artwork is lovely and there's a lot of humor, though the puns get to be a bit much.

Another great Muppet twist on a classic story with your favorite characters re-telling the legend of Sherlock Holmes with tons of in jokes and references that Muppet lovers will love.

I love Sherlock Holmes, and almost always like the Muppets. Unfortunately this comic was just boring throughout all four chapters. There are better Muppets parodies out there.
