If you liked the first volume of Eerie Queerie, then chances are that you will also enjoy the series' second outing. However, there are some minor differences between the two.

Firstly, the tone shifted has ever so slightly. The previous book was driven by comedic scenarios, whereas this one focuses more heavily on drama and character development. There are still moments that make you laugh, but they now appear at more irregular intervals.

Secondly, this book is more politically correct than it's predecessor. A lot of reviewers took issue at the homophobic language used in the first volume and thankfully this problem has now been resolved. This is now a much less offensive tale to read - although the author's decision to make all the homosexual characters act like a bunch of creepers could still be called into question.

On top of these alterations, the author (in my opinion) has also returned with improved artwork and a better grasp of strytelling. All in all, everything has been enhanced this time round, but I am still unable to rate this volume as highly as the original. I'm not sure why this is. It may just be personal preference, but I think I preferred this manga as a comedy. Sorry! 4/5.

Eerie Queerie two is still as fun and beautiful as the first. They kick the fan service up a notch, but it's still pretty light (compared to most anyway). If my memory is correct it starts to go down hill now, it hints at the craziness that abounds in the last two books.

Still, highly recommenedable as something light, and people new to the Yaoi genre.

It's just fun. There's nothing really to gain or learn or some cosmic lesson that will change the world and alter our reality for the better. It's just a whole lot of hot guys groping each other for our entertainment.

I like this book series a lot. It's just a tad cliché at times, but that's what makes it quite cute. It's odd to think these boys lust of the artless, naïve and clueless Mitsuo. But, he is equally cute!

Mild spoilers.
This volume started off interesting but as I reached halfway through the volume it started to fall into the usual BL tropes.
I hated the scenes of Hasunuma forcing a kiss on Ichi (who he isn't in love with) and the Chief Priest Mikuni at the shrine sexually harassing Mitsu,Hasunuma and Kanao(the ghost who was haunting Mitsuo/Mitsu Shiotsu - the main character).
This trend happens too often in BL.😮‍💨
In this volume Mitsuo is being haunted by a ghost who died 15 years ago that was coaxed by his senpai (upper classmen)committing a double suicide after rumours about their relationship started spreading around the school.
Of course his senpai betrayed him and left him to drown alone.
He started haunting Mitsuo out of nowhere and requested for him to search for the ring he was given by his boyfriend.
Later out of jealousy of Hasunuma's interactions with Mitsu he tried to kill Mitsu by pushing him through a window at their school.
As a result Hasunuma almost died and his soul was temporarily separated from his body.
His actual body was fine somehow and his family never showed up at the hospital to see how he was doing.
In fact the doctors weren't concerned when he suddenly left the hospital after he body was possessed by Kanao.
Mikuni has the ability to fix the problem of Hasunuma being separated from his body yet he decided to drag the predicament on longer than he needed to so he could take advantage of Mitsuo's grief and Hasunuma's near death situation.
He undressed and touched Mitsu while he was asleep and he sexually harassed the spirit form of Hasunuma.
He is creep yet he somehow joined the harem at the end the arc.
The candidates for Mitsu's love and drama surrounding it are becoming more and more shady and insufferable.
Unlike previous volumes Mitsu isn't the only one who can see the spirits, there is no proper ending to the arc so nothing is resolved.
The ending of volume 2 was frustrating because the ghost never apologized for nearly killing Mitsuo and Hasunuma, the priest never apologized for being a pervert, Kanao wasn't able to resolve the situation regarding his death,he suddenly didn't care anymore for no reason at all and Mitsu never learned the truth about Kanao's death or anything else Kanao told Hasunuma so him suddenly forgiving this boy, made no sense.
There is no explanation for why Mikuni can touch Hasunuma (spirit form) and Kanao but Mitsuo wasn't able to.
This volume was more about Mitsuo's harem than story and character development and by the looks of it a FOURTH guy is joining the harem and the ghost is going to be held as a replacement "playmate" for Mikuni.
I'm conflicted because part of me wants to drop this series because it's gone downhill but another side of me wants to finish the story and get it over with since the story is less than 7 volumes.

Eerie Queerie takes place in one of those unique manga-only worlds where every guy is constantly attracted to every other guy. Rivals abound and no guy is safe from the adoration bug. It gets a bit old as does yet another clueless but haplessly cute hero and the more worldly guy who spends most of his time leering.

Story: Hasanuma's had an accident that has caused his soul to separate and be unable to return. Mitsuo is determined to find a way to reunite Hasanuma's soul and body - and save his friend. But things are not always what they seem and Hasanuma may not be lost - he may have had his soul hijacked!

Most of the book is our genki little clueless wonder Mitsuo trying to restore Hasanuma to his hale and heart self. He'll get help from ghosts and from Ichi, the friend he made after the first ghost episode. More side characters will desire Mitsuo and Hasanuma gets to come in at the end and claim him.

Yes, Eerie Queerie does have its charm, even if it does feel greatly dated. I think 'cute' is the appropriate word here to describe the series. Like a Twinkie - it is a craving that never really satisfies but is tasty at the moment.

Much and much better than the first volume. Less annoying ghosts who don't get privacy, less homophobic jokes (still some jokes but less horrible than the previous volume, seems the classmates accepted it for most). And it seems everyone is very gay for Mitsuo. XD Sorry, but it is the truth. He keeps encountering hot guys that have the hots for him and it is both funny and delightful. Of course, I am still shipping the one big ship Hasunuma x Mitsuo. Though I am also happy with Ichi, the shrine dude, and the ghost. XD Normally I am not that much into love triangles and those turning into more, but it works in this one, especially since Mitsuo is so oblivious about it.
Loved the stories in this one, the haunted inn and the scary old lady who turned quite nice. The boy in the school and what his story is. There is a dash of drama, jealousy, and more. And I ate it all up. This was so much fun and I cannot wait to read the next volume soon!
Though can we please have shounen-ai/yaoi without assault? Please?

Good for the first half but then when Mikuni shows up we got straight into the the rapist trope. Kanau is then forced to serve Mikuni when he doesn't want to. :/

I picked up Eerie Queerie! vol 2. today--why oh why couldn't they have called it Ghost!, which seems to be the original title?--and laughed my ass off. How many more guys can lust after poor, clueless Mitsuo? There's the evilish temple priest, a dead boy ghost, and clueless Ichi coming closer to realizing what he wants. Plus the hiccups of death and Hasunuma glomping at every opportunity he can get. Hasunuma may love Mitsuo, but he needs to be walloped across the nose with a rolled-up newspaper sometimes. Meanwhile, Mikuni is like Dr. Muraki but without the murder and mutilation. Keeps the sexual harassment and creepiness intact, though...

Since the boy ghost looks a bit like like Weiß Kreuz's Nagi, I heard English Voice Nagi in my head for his dialogue, which added a different dimension to the reading experience.

I even liked the three unnamed classmates who tease Mitsuo over his public lovelife. They're kind of sweet. Almost. I guess they're a balance to the Mitsou/Hasunuma/Ichi triangle.

This unzipped vinyl top Mitsuo's in for a pinup picture in the book makes me want to throw a blanket around him. He's just like a little baby duckling! It's like pedophilia! He's so young and cute and fluffy! I would protect him. There'd be no sex, just me feeding him soup and letting him play with the cats.

Heh, if the Coming Next Issue is right, Mitsuo will have to get a job. Fear....

Alas, the guy at the counter had something to say about it. He reads manga too and wanted to talk to me about it. Gaaaaah! He takes advantage of his job to read all of the manga that comes in. Good for you, guy, but TMI and I just want to take my purchase and leave, okay?

I really loved Mitsuo and Hasunuma's story in this one, the way Mitsuo is slowly opening to the possibility of maybe having deeper feelings for Hasunuma - when he isn't being totally oblivious, that is. Like on the beach, when Mitsuo and his friends found the couple kissing, everybody was all bug-eyed, tongues lolling, and he was all, "Hey, look another resort on the other side of the lake. Interesting." Yet it still doesn't click for him that maybe he isn't into girls, after all. It's quite funny. And when Hasunuma saved Mitsuo's life... that was really touching.

The one thing I didn't like about this manga was Mikuni and what he did to Hasunuma. I didn't find it funny at all. He knew how to return Hasunuma's soul into his body, he just decided not to do it, for the lulz, even though he saw how much it was hurting Mitsuo and that Hasunuma's body was slowly dying without his soul. Yeah, really NOT funny.

Another good installment. Ichi also starts crushing on Mitsuo and now rivals Hasunmura - the two become like the cute medium's bodyguard, though still ghosts manage to find him. Hasunmura goes into a coma after saving Mitsuo's life and Mitsuo realises just how much he misses his friend. We also meet the perverted priest Mituni who seems to hit on everyone! No girls at all in this volume, just lots of cute boys. A little light on the emotional side of things, this is a really fun series with very cute artwork.
