I picked up this book because it looked promising as a short travelogue. The Basque region is of interest, and I’d recently visited Basque areas in Boise. It fell flat though. It wasn’t clear if the entries were the entire journal written during her trip, or just select passages (and if the latter, why these passages were selected in the first place as there was very little depth and a lot of repeated themes).
