"Panic party" or "L'isola della paura" in italian, is a thriller book, it tried to be a good book but it can't reach the level where a reader says "What a good book!". The plot reminds me of And Then There Were None but it's not as clever as the Agata's. The characters are all horrible and hateful creatures, which is a good thing, but only when the protagonist is damn cool and sympathetic. But he isn't. I personally found Roger (the detective) the most hateful characters out of all the others (and it's quite difficult surpass Enid, believe me). Anyway, this book was a total chaos, but in a funny and lightly way. I will recommend it while on plane or waiting at the dentist.

The final Roger Sheringham mystery, offering a crime fiction version of Lord of the Flies (which came 20 years later). A disappointing end to the series, with too many pages and a subpar solution. But still much to enjoy, as Berkeley’s customary wit is sprinkled throughout.

Hulk tuntud seltskonnategelasi saab kutse lõbusõidule jahtlaeva pardal. Külastatakse kauneid saari. Lõbusat ajaveetmist lootnud reisiseltskonnale saab aga osaks hirmuäratav üllatus: nad on langenud maniaki ohvriks, kes neid üksteise järel teise ilma hakkab saatma, iga kord erineval moel. Mis on neil kuritegudel ühist, miks valiti just neid ohvriteks?

Tekkis huvi, kas on mingeid sarnasusi.
