My 6 year old (at the time) reluctant-reader whose Aspie obsessions was for all things Transformers, gave this book the thumbs up. A year later, he still reaches for this one. The text is not too difficult, has a few new words (as it should) but mostly comfortably familiar words. I was surprised at the ease with which my little reader handled the names of the different autobots in the book. I guess the love of the topic helps alot. This is one of the few beginner readers my son has read again, and this one is one of an even smaller group of go-to books that he feels he can always rely on for a good read. I only wish there were more of them.

I think this is an okay book, but my son (age 5) love it. He would give it five stars.

The Transformers are robots that disguise themselves as cars to fight crime. The Decepticons are the evil version of the transformers that want to take over Earth. The Transformers stop the evil Decepticons from taking over the earth once again. Easy first reading book for young children.

1) Teach students about content clues such as why the bad guys are drawn in dark colors
2) Student can create their own Transformer
3) Teach students about different colors
4) Teach students about the big differences in car and trucks. Example car vs. tank
5) Easy first book for student to read aloud
