Very easy read for beginners looking to learn about art history. Good overview on how art has evolved from stone ages to the street art or abstract art we see today.

Touches on all the famous painters and paintings we need to know, with annotations with regards to interpreting the artist’s intention as well as political / social / cultural context.

I like it so far, I'm up to "International Gothic". I like the layout and synopsis format with timelines and detailed descriptions and background. This is a good starting point for anyone interested in art history.
