This is a wonderful story of love found in the most difficult times, and in the most unexpected way. A moving tale filled with steamy desire, and unexpected turns in events, all while following the life of a quintessential tomboy. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and will soon be reading many others by this author.

Despite the jarring perspective changes and the things that might be important but are never mentioned again, this was a decent book. I may even read it again at a later date.

I loved this book. There was a few spots here and there that I glided through,..where a character gets thinking over stuff that we already know and realize how the character feels about what is going on. The sex...it isn't my thing to read sex scenes...so skimmed over and by-passed those areas. I loved the story though.

Picked this up in the bargain book rack. I enjoyed the story line of a older woman( 26! Gasp!)
who is also knows how to fight! The beginning of the book moved faster. The romance had enough interest between Bera and Curran, forbidden and her standoffish to keep me interested. The whole hero goes to rescue her 9 brothers to the enemy fortress and so does she kept the story interesting. She is a strong willed, take charge woman and that was a nice change.
Later, I felt it dragged in spots and I skimmed a bunch to get to more exciting spots. The author had some explicit sexual scenes and some non -existent sex scenes! It was tame in some ways, and so much going on with the secondary characters that the I felt that the reader didn't really get to know them. Bera was beautiful to Curran even though she was homely by description and talked about her looks negatively. Very rare in romance novels. It is a easy read with romance and action and adventure. Lots of secondary characters that round out the story
