Juan Wijngaard's illustrations are gorgeous, and do a great job of painting the many types of clouds that Tripp describes in the course of this day on a farm; where a farmer works hard to get his hay harvest in before the storm arrives.

I give the book a four but the illustrations are definitely deserve a 5 star.

A good friend, Juan Wijngaard, is the illustrator. It was interesting to see some of his older work as he no longer illustrates books, preferring to paint full time. As with all his work, there is meticulous attention to detail so that each illustration tells a complete story. This could easily be a book without words as the illustrations are that good, making it a good "read" for the younger listener-reader.

Fascinating, living book about meteorology and how a thunderstorm is formed and plays out. Beautiful illustrations, it doesn't get 5* because there are pages where there is so much text it is daunting to the reader. I would have preferred a longer book with less text per page.

Absolutely wonderful book to read during our Morning Time as we are working on Meteorology this year for science. Good story, wonderful explanations of weather phenomenon - we all enjoyed this read! (13yob & 16yob)
