Good story that kept my interest, but not as intense as I would like. The writing seemed a little basic, lacking some emotional depth that I hoped for. However, I am sucked into this series about a group of offspring from a rich playboy who went around planting his seed liberally, and the grandmother executive who is using her considerable means to make sure that they all have happy lives.
Luke was pretty clueless. He was all business. He had this great idea that he wanted an heir to train to take over his businesses. He approached his trusty Admin Assistant Hayley to research into hiring a surrogate, only to find that Tennessee laws precluded a non-married person from hiring one. Next plan was to ask Hayley to do it. Hayley, being an old fashioned girl, and deeply in love with her boss, came up with conditions that included marriage and joint custody, sure that her commitment shy boss would say no. He called her bluff and whisked her off to get married.
Of course, Luke is all business, and spends their wedding night in labor negotiations, instead of romancing his wife. He doesn't even buy her a ring. Poor Hayley. This husband really needs to go to husband school.
Most of this book shows Luke coming to the realization that his feelings for Hayley are quite deeper than he thought, and he'd loved her for a while, whereas Hayley spends her time trying to hide that she's deeply in love with her workaholic boss. And he wouldn't even introduce her as his wife. He still kept calling her by her maiden name and as his Admin Assistant! Boy, was Luke in for a wakeup call. He surely got one, too.
It was a pretty good book, and I'll continue this series. Overall rating: 3.5/5.0 stars.

I’m torn on how to rate this book… I laughed through most of the book. Not because the story was funny, but because of how dense Luke was at relationships. Who in the world gets married, but forgets to buy a wedding ring? After the wedding, he is in no hurry to correct his mistake. But, he get mad when a guy flirts with Haley.
Luke treats Haley so tender and sweet when they are alone. Then he induces her as his secretary not his wife. He wonders why that would upset her??? Stuff like that happens throughout the book, and I just had to laugh at how dense one guy could be. He did wising up, but it took a head injury for him to realize just how much Haley meant to him.
The story was not believable. So for that I’m rating this book a 2 star.

Entah kenapa Luke tiba-tiba berpikir dia harus memiliki pewaris untuk perusahaannya. Dan dia harus memulainya dari sekarang. Dia memikirikan seorang ibu pengganti yang dapat melahirkan ank untuknya, untuk kemudian menjadi pewarisnya. Haley, asisten eksekutif Luke, menganggap rencana itu gila dan menyakiti hatinya. Karena dia sudah memendam cinta untuk atasannya itu bertahun-tahun lamanya. Namun saat, Luke menawarinya untuk menjadi ibu pengganti, Haley juga hampir tidak percaya. Dia lalu mengajukan sejumlah syarat, termasuk bahwa mereka harus menikah. Tidak butuh waktu lama bagi Luke untuk menyetujui persyaratan itu.
Pernikahan berlangsung cepat, tanpa cincin pernikahan. Di malam pertama mereka menjadi suami-istri, Luke mengabaikan istrinya demi bisnisnya. Namun dia menebusnya keesokan harinya. Love this couple 😍 Meski lambat menyadari perasaan satu sama lain tapi romantikanya dapat. Siapa yg mengira jika Luke yg berambisi memiliki keturunan-tapi didapatkan via ibu pengganti-demi kelangsungan bisnis pemberian si nenek, akhirnya mau mengikuti semua keinginan Haley, sekretarisnya yg handal. Sedangkan Haley yg sedari awal memang menaruh hati pada bosnya itu justru terjebak dgn keinginannya sendiri. Ujung2nya dia malah bingung sendiri 😃😃
Yg terasa kurang sedikit dari seri ini, eksplorasi alasan Luke yg akhirnya mau menerima permintaan si nenek-padahal Luke ini terkenal keras kepala-dan juga sepak terjang Nenek Luke hingga berhasil menautkan kembali hati Haley ke cucunya.

It was ok, but I found hero to be very dumb to not notice heroine was attractive (not like she was at all ugly but a makeover opened his eyes, his twin noticed that she was attractive). I did like heroine, she came across as nice and had right amount of realism of the arrangement they entered into. P.

How stubborn and closed was luke! It was nice to see that he finally realized the on going situation, but how did Hayley suffer! On the other hand, Emerald really has work to do hahaha

Good read. Luke had no personality in the outside world, but during sex, he does not use the F word during sex, he says "making love". That is what I liked about him the most.

After meeting her he decides he wants a boy to inherit and carry on his life's work. He thinks he can hire a surrogate and have his heir, only Tennessee only allows married couples to use surrogates. Change of plans, he tells his executive assistant, Haley Rollins, that she's the one he wants to have his son. This leads to a big change in Luke's life, Emerald knows how to manipulate her grandchildren.

Suka nich...kalo ada baby-nya. Apalagi kalo Luke mulai punya rencana terkait "proyek kecil" mereka yang bikin Haley merona kayak tomat. Maklum..Haley masih virgin and tentu aja Luke kaget. Tapi langsung posesif dech ehem..ehem...suka sama ceritanya ga terlalu tarik ulur maklum HQ. Jadi penasaran sama ceritanya adek2 Luke, Jake (kembaran Luke) dan juga adik kecil mereka Arielle yg lagi hamil(n lagi berusaha mencari bapak dari baby-nya)

A great read. Read more like a Harlequin Presents which I really enjoy anyway so this one worked nicely for me. Ending was a bit cliched because it fell back on the hero fighting his feelings for most of the book until of course the heroine gets injured and then suddenly he realizes how much he loves her, but because the chemistry and passion between the hero and heroine was so great I forgave it.

April 7, 2014Here's the thing about reading Harlequin : you don't always get good stories. And this is one of it. Too many making love scenes so that the author forget to explore the emotion part of the characters. It is just the epilog twist at the end of the book kinda satisfies me, apart than that I can't say I enjoy this book. I even skipped many pages as they were too boring.

Alur ceritanya cepat banget dan bumbu konfliknya kurang. Langusung tembak sasaran. Menurut saya chemistry kurang terbangun, mungkin karena alurnya cepat. Bagaian epilog kurang berkesan karena ekspektasi saya bakal diceritain kisah kehidupan kedua tokohnya setelah 3 sampai 5 tahun kemudian atau cerita momen bahagia pas anaknya lahir.

Le meilleur des trois, c'est sûr (en même temps, ça ne pouvait pas être pire que "Le mensonge d'un séducteur" LOL). Les héros étaient sympa, de l'humour et un peu d'émotion. L'histoire m'a donné envie de lire les autres tomes de la série.

This was, at best, an ok read. Nothing new in terms of the premise of the story, never felt the chemistry between the main characters, and the ending was so-so. Just to be fair to the author I'll try another book or two. Hopefully I'll find some that are more enjoyable than this one.

Actually I've read Jake series first then Luke. Well, to be honest I found Jake story more intriguing than Luke. But nevertheless, it's a good story. Although in the middle of somewhere in the story, I wish I can give Luke a punch in his stomach. But I can't. Bcos it's just a story. Lol.
