Janie has moved to New York to try to make it as a writer, all the while serving as part-time lover in a polyamorous relationship with Veronica and TJ and full-time nanny to their daughter, Beth. Janie's life is already incredibly full when she runs into an agent one morning who sees great potential in her-and not just as an author. She knows she has to tell him eventually, but fear holds her back. Will she lose him? Will she be forced to make an impossible choice? Or will she, perhaps, find that the capacity for the human heart to love is, indeed, endless? --------- Warnings: This title contains erotic situations, graphic language, a menage a trois (MFF threesome), lesbian sex and a hookup turned romance that will curl your toes! -------------- IF YOU LIKED BAUMGARTNER GENERATIONS: JANIE, you may want to have more fun with this family! I think that this is the one book I have liked the most. After the B's Reunion, I thought that the next chapter would be just as smutty....also I was not too crazy about Janie...but surprise!!! Janie turns out to be more than just a hot and sexy woman....now living as the "third" with Ronnie & TJ as their nanny...talk about history repeating itself!!!!!
Not going to spoil this story, which had an interesting plot and though there are some really hot and I mean HOT scenes between Janie and a woman...it's her relationship with Josh that takes center stage here. Oh what a lovely romance it is....getting to know each other before hopping into bed for some AWESOME sex....of course it's awesome. This author only writes incredible erotic and sexy scenes!!!
I loved the ending. A bit of a surprise but a good one.
Carrie & Doc's daughter Janie is featured in this steamy read.
After moving to NY to live with Ronnie & TJ, she encounters Josh who is not only hot as hell - but is also a literary agent who can help her with her writing aspirations. A little bit of angst is tossed in while Janie balances her current polyamorous relationship with TJ and Ronnie and her new found attraction to Josh.
I adored Josh from the start! It looks like this family all sprouted from the kink tree - yay for me!
Another smutastic erotica installment from Selena Kitt!
I swear Selena Kitt is the master of the "Hot Book". From the first few pages I was drawn in and squirming like crazy.
We get the story of Janie, the little girl we first met in Babysitting the Baumgartners.
Janie is in a polyamorous relationship with her employers. Basically she is boinking the couple who's kid she is the nanny for. You get a glimpse of Janie's wild child lifestyle, from clubbing, to various after clubbing activities. *wink wink, nudge nudge*
Selena's writing really draws you into the story so you care deeply about all her characters, tells a great story of all different types of love, and due to how well she does the first two her smexy scenes are off the charts HOT!
I highly recommend this book. Make sure to have a hand/toy/SO handy. You will so need it!
I really liked this book. I love Selena Kitt's books. I have to say that i felt bad for Ronnie it seemed to me that TJ cared more about Janie then his own wife. I mean in the reunion he had no problem with his wife/mother of his daughter sleeping with anyone (male or female)and everyone. But in this book he got all pissed off and crazy jealous when Janie was getting together with Josh. And it seemed like he was sneaking around on his wife, fucking Janie in secret when he was suppose to be sleeping on the sofa. Janie even said that they only had sex in Ronnie/Tj's room and it felt wrong for him to be sneaking into her bedroom. But other than that i enjoyed the plot and all the old characters showing up.
I loved the original BTB, then was a little disappointed with Reunion. Kitt got back in the groove of producing good trash with this latest installment, Generations: Janie.
I was actually a little apprehensive about this 3rd book because of the strangeness of all the overlapping relationships in the Baumgartner family featured in Baumgartners Reunion. In the end, however, I thought this book was excellent. I don't want to ruin it for those of you who haven't read it, but I was very pleased with the direction the story ended up going. It didn't feel quite as sleezy as Reunion and there was more to the backstory than an all out sexfest.
Nothing beats the original, but it certainly pulls in at a close second. Now, who the heck is Henry gonna be hooking up with? Possibily Gretchen and catherine? Just a thought...

I don't like Janie. There is just something about her that bothers me. I think it's because she comes across as a selfish dishonest and immature brat to me. However, I still liked this story only because of Josh. Josh is what did it for me. I have to look him up to see if he really exists. Josh is the sweet man who's been majorly screwed over by women he's loved. I think he's too good for Janie. Plus, I don't believe Janie will ever put behind her love for women and more than one person in her bed. In a few years, her dissatisfaction is only going to make her resent Josh and force him in the position he was with his first wife, Cat. Boo to Janie.
TJ, he's lovely and also too good for Ronnie. I don't understand how these insecure women end up with such lovely men. Both Ronnie and Janie have hang ups and flaws which are unappealing and high maintenance. It's what I don't like about women, yet they still find flawless men like TJ and Josh to love them. It just boggles my mind. Then again, this story is just to masturbate to, so I really shouldn't complain. Ms. Kitt does write lovely sex scenes.
Wow, this was TERRIBLE. It’s official: the Baumgartners are wealthy white Trump supporters and for a good 3/4 of this book I was forcibly trying to control my upchuck reflex.
I mean: they’ve always been privileged, yes. But in this book, young Janie has grown up and is living in NYC with Ronnie and TJ, serving as their nanny while also trying to get a career as a writer off the ground. What this actually means is she spends time at fancy club 1 Oak (a real place) where she hooks up with Catherine, a wealthy model, and in the process meets her husband Josh - and the two fall for each other immediately. He happens to be a writer’s agent and do you see where this is going?
Ugh, their romance plays out across more scenes of incredible wealth in the city and I did NOT enjoy it. Also, I know the Baumgartners stories always have kind of crossed lines when it comes to people knowing each other and sleeping together anyway, but the way Catherine and Josh blithely handle Janie coming between them (as in: it’s not a big deal) is ridiculously unbelievable. Janie also makes a hideously homophobic comment that really should not be allowed from a woman who engages in queer sex acts on the regular. This is NOT the first time this series has had homophobic language and scenes in it...it’s getting more common in these later books, in fact.
The only good parts are a few conversations that Janie has with either TJ or Ronnie about the changing nature of what polyamory is and the relationship between the three of them. But these are few and far between. Janie’s relationship with Josh ends up looking and feeling very traditionally straight and monogamous and I was NOT here for it.
I feel angry at where this series has gone. I legit HATED this book. I will read the Henry story for complete-ism but I do not have a good feeling about where Selena Kitt is going with this. The Baumgartners are officially the worst.
They're BAACCK! But some things have changed. We're catching up with Ronnie and TJ with Janie as their third. Things are blissful but not always perfect in their new life in NYC. Janie's still trying to find her place as her own person and lover to a married couple. Trying to reconcile being young and wanting to find a love of her own, but at the same time not being able to leave the couple that she's falling in love with.
I really liked what Selena did this book. While it's not Babysitting the Baumgartners, I think that it's got more a plot to it and deals more with character development that BTB, and that made me love it even more. Of course, we're talking Selena Kitt here, so you know there's smokin' hot sex throughout. But this book was differet.
*************SPOILER ALERT****************
I loved when Ronnie and Janie were talking and Janie told Ronnie that she loved the way that TJ looked at Ronnie. Ronnie said that she felt like Janie deserved that too. She deserved a love all her own and not being the "third". Ronnie admitted that she had felt that way with Carrie and Doc, and I feel like that was the first time that we got that insight into Ronnie and her whilrwind relationship with the Baumgartners. But also, it's true. Janie did deserve that. I feel like she needed Ronnie's approval to go for that. It made me love Ronnie even more.
*************SPOILER DONE****************
All in all I say, great, quick read. While I wish there had been more combo sex (gotta love BTB), I truly enjoyed reading the next chapter in their lives.
After reading “Baumgartner Generations: Janie” by Selena Kitt, I’m having a hard time putting words together. If I could, I’m sure that “wickedly sexy,” “deliciously complicated” and “an erotic masterpiece” would span the top of the page. Ms. Kitt expertly weaves a tale that is as realistic as it is compelling. It is truly amazing to watch as the story of Janie and Josh unfolds before your eyes.
The lesson in this book is that your heart is big enough to love more than one person. The way the author introduces it in the prologue and then re-introduces it later in the story is clever and brings Janie full circle. Not only will the reader walk away with a healthy dose of sexual tension to bleed off, but also a level of understanding. This book is by no means geared towards anyone who does not possess an open mind.
I would like to close by offering a warning – do not read this book unless you are reasonably close to your significant other, have a large class of ice water to dump on yourself or keep another type of fire extinguisher handy.
Dang! Looks like Ronnie passed the greedy stick over to Janie in this book!! TJ, Ronnie, Catherine, Josh... that girl got busy! It wasn't a surprise that there were so many sexual combinations going on, being a Baumgartner book and all, but I definitely like some more than others.
I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of Janie and TJ's alone time together. I felt like it was a little selfish of them both to sort of "sneak around" while Ronnie was dealing with her health condition. And it was sneaking around because they were worried about making too much noise and about having TJ sleep over in Janie's room. Heck, Janie even mentioned that it didn't feel quite right but that she just couldn't stop because it felt so good. Aww... poor Janie. ;)
The best interactions by far were Josh and Janie's. They were a super hot pairing, without even having to add anyone into their play. I am a little curious about whether or not Janie will yearn for certain "female things" later on but until then, they make for a smashing couple.
Not sure if I'll continue on with the series but I know I won't fully shut the door to it... yet.
The Baumgartner Generations: Janie story was a very satisfying read. This is my favorite (so far) of the Baumgartner's series. I think that is because there is more exposition in this one, gave me more to chew on, and I loved reading more of the 'back story', too. However, I have to say that didn't 'love' the ending though. It felt a little quick for me. The secondary story line, with Ronnie being pregnant and having complications was good but (for me) the conclusion of that issue was too fast. Plus, there is a big set-up of another reunion for Doc, Mrs. B, Gretchen, Ronnie and TJ, etc. and very little was done with that. I was very excited that Josh and Catherine would be at this 'reunion' and practically nothing was done with that interesting dynamic! Even still, I loved Janie's story and gave it a 4 stars out of 5. Now I'll give Henry's story a try and go back and read the prequels, too! All in All, if you enjoyed any of the other Baumgartner stories, you will love this one.
I think I'm getting tougher with my star ratings. It takes a lot to get me up to 4 stars these days, let alone 5.
If you've read any other books by Selena Kitt you will know more or less what to expect here, and this book does not fail to deliver on her usual mix of good characters and hot sex.
There were some weird formatting issues with my Kindle copy, but I seem to get those with all Excessica titles so it's probably down to the way they create their content.
This book was my best book in the series so far. The story was the most interesting of all the books and I loved Janie and Josh's relationship. They were a very cute couple I loved how Josh was different. He's the only one in the series so far that has been monogamous and it gave a different touch to the story. I hope the next one is as good.
I never really liked the whole TJ/Janie/Ronnie dynamic (felt too much like a recycled version of Doc/Ronnie/Carrie), and the first half of this book was still about their relationship, but the second half when Janie started to branch off and do her own thing with the guy she had started to fall in love ended up being pretty good.
This is the last book in the Baumgartners series for me (I think I probably read a bit out of order) and I think the one I enjoyed the least. Might have been the fact that Doc and Mrs. B were missing? In any case, this series has had many more winners than duds...full of steamy, sexy goodness!
I liked this one. I guess I'm not freaky enough for all these open marriages that seem to be the norm in this family. I think it's way hotter that Janie's man laid down the law with "You're mine. I won't share."
I can't get enough of these Baumgartner stories and this one is just as good as the rest. I'm almost sad that I only have a couple more books in this series left to read. :(
I loved and will miss the Baumgartner's brand of sexy, adventurous and very hot, erotic fun.
Once again, more than just steamy, hot encounters were packed into "Janie" (not that just that would have been a bad thing!) :), but again, the emotions and fears brought to the surface, made it more real.
With the big set-up of another reunion for Doc, Mrs. B, Gretchen, Ronnie and TJ, I was getting set for some more sexual fireworks, but that didn't happen, I missed that.
One tiny, tiny thing I didn't like, Josh's attitude towards the end.
Call me "New fashioned", but Carrie and Doc made the series, by being free thinking, and sharing love and pleasure with several others. I think the world could use more of that.
Ronnie and TJ, they were in good, with TJ giving Ronnie, and by extension, himself, the latitude to explore and discover their multifaceted sexual identities.
Josh's "I'm the only one in your life, and that's how it has to be" attitude to Janie irked me. Using love almost like a cage, ugh, it struck me as being confining, I dislike that cave mannish attitude, it stuck out amongst the liberal, refreshing attitudes of Carrie, Doc, Gretchen, Ronnie and TJ.
If you like the Baumgartner stories, you'll like this one too.
Janie Baumgartner is living in NY with Ronnie and TJ taking care of their daughter Beth. While she's not playing nanny to Beth she can be found in the arms of Ronnie and TJ. Because when you're a Baumgartner apparently you have more that enough love to go around.
This arrangment works for the most part until Janie wants more. Although she loves Ronnie and TJ she still hopes to find her own man to look at her like TJ looks at Ronnie. After going home with Catherine she wakes up hung over and has a run in with Catherine's husband Josh. Thus begining more drama for this young woman.
She still loves R and T but is starting to fall for Josh. Things get more complicated with Ronnies unexpected surprise and the arrival of Gretchen as well as a Cabin vacation her Mother planned.
Just a warning while you read this if you read this go into knowing some might consider this taboo and polyrelationships are the 'norm' for this family. I didn't enjoy this story persay as some of the other but I do have to say I liked the ending.
This is just one of the questions facing our youngest Baumgartner female in this third installment of the series. Though she will never be my favorite character in this series, I did find myself liking Janie more than I did in Reunion.
Wow, I am finding it a bit of a challenge to review this one without filling it full of all the spoilers I am trying to avoid. What can I say Selena Kitt is a master at writing scenes you just want to talk about and characters that make you care. Even if you don’t like them at times.
Everyone from Reunion is back, though some are not in it as much as I would like. Yes my brain does know that this is Janie’s story but the rest of me is still chanting ‘more Doc and Mrs. B.’ I’m greedy that way. And some new faces are along for the ride as well. At its heart, this is a love story.
seems like since the series is not about Doc and Carrie I got bored with it easly.
the beginning was nice (kind of) but after the first 2 chapters I fast-read it, nothing meaningful happened in this book, just the usual like in the last 3 books. I can't get how Ronnie was 19 when it's started with the Baumgartners and Janie 21 (in this book 23) but still, they seemed like kids. Or is it an american thing? idk. Something felt wrong anyway.
Josh a boring character, also his wife Cat, and the whole pregnancy-drama. Also: Why is everyone getting pregnant all the time? Even with 99,9% safe IUD, and constantly on pills... just no.
also never-ever say no to condoms. you can not be safe enough for the first time having sex with someone and even if you are on pills, what if he/she has some disease?? ugh. oh Janie, how dumb you are, like?!
Baumgartner Generations: Janie is book three in the Baumgartners series by Selena Kitt. I enjoyed this story, but I had a hard time getting past the relationship between Ronnie, TJ, and Janie.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Well the Baumgartners saga continues as our little Janie here is all grown up she follows Ronnie and TJ to New York City to pursue all her dreams - As a writer, a nanny to beautiful little Beth, and as a lover to both Ronnie an TJ..but after awhile Janie starts asking herself what she truly wants weighing the pros and cons- Is she truly ready to move on and leave Ronnie and TJ behind? This was a very hot read!! I Loved Janie's character an watching her grow into her own, and discovering whom she was and what she wanted and finally getting what she got in the end- Awesome ;)
