Yes you guessed it there was another Paper Tiger book delivered today and I have to say it was one of the titles I know very little about. This is by the Argentinian artist Ciruelo Cabral although here the book is credited to Nigel Suckling (who provided the English text)

This book comes from the mid-run of the publisher - the 1990s where the books had taken on a more professional feel (as reflected by the weight of the paper) and the fact that they were hardbacks. However the book still carries the same look at feel (and even aroma) as the earlier publications and so to me is still essentially a Paper Tiger book.

The material is an intriguing spread and range of topics and styles which after reading the biographical entries is a fair reflection of the artist himself. He believes in continually creating new pieces. So when there are no commissions he makes what he refers to as "free works" which he then tailors to his customers needs at a later date.

Now I am not sure how successful this approach is but it appears to work and as such allows him a huge range of material only a fraction of which is covered in this book. An interesting artist I will admit I know and have experienced very little about but I have say very very talented. A great book with a lot of insight.
