Obsession is an M/F non-shifter Omegaverse set in the Forbidden Alphas world. Each book will contain different Alpha and Omega pairings. Featuring plenty of knots, nesting, Heats, and Ruts.
Liliana Carlisle is a romance author that loves angst, drama, and passion. The spicier the better!
She resides in Northern California with her husband, stepchildren, and emotional cats. She started her writing "career" in seventh grade, writing Backstreet Boys fanfiction in her notebooks. When she's not writing she can be found studying classical voice, playing Fortnite, or gulping cold brew.
After reading book 1 in this series I wasn’t sure if I would continue with this one, but after reading some reviews I decided to give it a go, and I’m so glad I did! This book is way better than the last one, because the h isn’t as annoying. Unfortunately it can’t be read as a stand-alone.
This series is about a world where Alphas are separated from society and kept in military camps because they are dubbed monstrous and dangerous. Omegas are allowed to stay in society, but are monitored closely. In book 1, the alphas decide to break out of their camp. They also decide to release a bunch of confidential documents to the news outlets, which show the horrible conditions that the alphas were kept in. The documents also show that alpha aren’t dangerous at all and that they are meant to mate with omegas. This book starts off after these events.
Audrey is a lab researcher. She works in a lab that was responsible for experimenting on Alphas. After seeing the news, she feels that she can no longer work at the lab and resigns. Then she decides that she wants to go back to get her research notes, so she breaks in after dark one night, only to run into an Alpha — Julian. After her interaction with him, things start getting weird for Aubrey, who previously thought she was a Beta: to her surprise, coming into contact with the Alpha has made her present as an Omega. This leads to a lot of smexy scenes with Audrey going into heat, not once, but twice. It was 🥵 🔥. I really liked Julian. He was a bit crazy and OTT J/P, but I loved it! Overall, I really liked this! I will for sure continue with the series.
Liliana Carlisle is one of my go-to authors when I feel like I need something fast but safe, sweet, spicy that'll leave me in a good mood. This book was nothing short of that, I always know what I'm getting with her novellas and she sure delivers.
I devoured this book!! It was absolutely delicious. In Obsession, we continue where we left off in book one of the Forbidden Alphas series. Lillian, our heroine, is introduced to us as a Beta scientist at the beginning. She is so struck by the issue with the child presenting in book one, that she quits her job and walks away from her life’s work. Shortly after that, everything comes to a head with the Alphas, and even though she knows it’s not safe, she goes back to the abandoned lab where she worked to collect her notes. That’s where she runs into our mysterious hero, Alpha Julian. 🔥 HOT DAMN! He was a lot to handle. The definition of an alpha-hole - cocky, dangerous, but soooo sexy! He knows something about Lillian that she hasn’t figured out yet and, in short, he starts stalking her. She can’t get away from him but she also can’t resist him.
This book was suuuuper smutty and such a fun time. If you enjoy M/F Omegaverse stories with knotting, nesting, heats/ruts, and lots of bodily fluids - this is the book for you! You’re in for a good time with this one. Huge shoutout to Liliana Carlisle for this ARC! 🖤

Omegaverse Opposites attract Fantasy romance
⚠️TW: light stalking and some potential CNC moments
This is another great book. I have liked every book I have read of hers. There is a great storyline and character development. I would like to have learned more about his backstory and family. I don’t read the blurb so it is always an adventure discovering her plots. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
As far as trashy romance books go, this one was fine i guess, but it just could have been so much better.
For starters, this book could have really benefitted from some more world building and character development. Over the course of the book, Julian and Audrey don’t grow as characters, and I think that’s to to this book’s detriment, because to me, this book reads as: a scientist is roofied by an alpha criminal and convinces herself that she’s in love with him.
Like, where was the build up of their relationship? As a book that features an omega verse, I just think it’s crucial to build a relationship based on actual feelings between the characters to avoid the accusations of “she’s on an aphrodisiac so it’s not consensual”, which I actually agree with on the account of this book and it’s romance.
I was also really baffled by the reasoning behind Julian’s obsession with Audrey. I get that he’s a stalker but why? He literally has no reason to be attracted to her other than her physical looks and even then it just isn’t enough for me to build a relationship between the two of them. He mentions them being mates once but that’s mostly in relation to them being a couple and I really wish it had been a soulmate type of thing, which would have really helped justify their relationship, and would have fixed most of my problems with this story.
Yeah, overall this book was just not that good, especially in comparison to some of the omega verse fanfics I’ve read. This does not compare.

I read the first book of this series and thought it was okay and then I got a glimpse of the blurb for this one, and it caught my attention, and I am glad I read this. It was pretty cute, and while it did have a push and pull dynamic, it wasn't done in a way that made it overkill, or just unrealistic. It was a nice balance that worked. Julian was adorable, even if he was a bit psycho. The author managed to create a brooding hero that had humanity in him. I feel like brooding heroes in these types of books are often not given emotion besides caring for the woman they love, but this guy was scarred and he had anxiety and fear, and I loved being able to see his emotions.
There also weren't any glaring issues with this book other than a few typos, and what I felt was a lack of detail regarding the world it was set in. I had some idea of how the world worked due to reading the first story, but that book also still didn't really have too much detail. I kind of just want to know what made the world in these books the way it was. I want more depth I suppose.
All in all, I liked this story. It was cute, with a slightly darker edge (it's not that dark, but others will disagree), and it was just a good time. 3 stars!
Absolutely wonderful Alpha/Omega romance with dark overtones. I love this author's writing style: I was smoothly drawn deep into Julian & Audrey's journey to find freedom & love. I found myself fascinated by Julian, how lethal AND brutal he was except for his Omega, Audrey. And Audrey was fighting her instincts as well as government propaganda that brainwashed society with lies about Alphas & Omegas. The author wrote a beautifully skilled story that takes the enthralled reader along with these two people through their fears & traumas, their misdirected expectations & reactions, to try & find/expose the truth & maybe, just maybe, find love with their One. There's suspense, danger, a lethal but uber protective Alpha, a strong-willed Omega desperately seeking to sort fact from lies & afraid to hope, a dark tyrannical government plot, SIZZLE & STEAM, but ultimately a wonderfully satisfying romance with emotional intensity. I loved this one & at the end I was an huge puddle of delightfully pleased goo. I want my own Julian . . . .
i didn’t know this was a second book in a series so that’s on me for reading it out of order but i’m so confused w the world bc of the lack of context and world building provided i thought it was gonna be like every werewolf book and i already had the context but they define alpha beta omega differently and it’s in this dystopian world which is interesting to read about but would’ve been better if i got what was going on. but it’s alright like it’s a short read that’s mainly just smut and that’s the mood rn for me lol but i do like the characters they are a tad boring tho but hey what can you do within that little amount of pages. but that ending was so anticlimactic like they just go to canada as if it’s nothing there was no other obstacles or conflict that’s gonna happen maybe this is me being picky but i was like uh? but i still liked the book i found it interesting but not the best i’ll give it like a 7/10
The smut in this read was top tier, slippery, feral-for-each-other spices goodness.
Paired with that spice was a tragically forged, beautifully unhinged alpha male who told society to f— off because his woman was his and you touched her at your own peril.
I enjoyed the surprise of Audrey’s life, as well as the inner strength of her conscious mind. Being able to go against everything she knew and worked towards for the sake of morality is never an easy thing and I admired that our FMC had that background in this dystopian setting, especially in relation to our MMC, Julian.
Such an enjoyable read, it’ll break your heart and make you laugh, I would have adored seeing more of Julian’s multifaceted personality, he was such an intrigue in Possession.
And let’s not forget Pearl, the black cat that gives MAJOR main character vibes. Let’s be real, if the animal likes the man, he’s a keeper, stabbing habits aside.
Audrey kind of had the same disposition as the heroine in the previous book but she was a lot more accepting of Julian. Pearl, her black cat, was my favorite. Girl knew what was best before her owner did, for sure😏😏😏
Julian was as obsessed as the title says. He was a sadist (not in the bedroom) and a psycho. But he was also cute and gentle and so so doting. He was the perfect mix and the highlight of this book for me. Even his little insecurities behind his arrogant cockiness was endearing. Can you believe this hunk of a man blushed? Yes, he blushed. Twice! Let me just swoon for this Alpha in peace😩😩😩
The smut scenes were great. I liked this book much better than the previous book, honestly. A solid 4 🌟 worth read.
P.S:
I was caught a bit off-guard when I read the character's name. Because I thought this book would be about Draven and Ava. But that's that.
Audrey, a beta, has worked collecting data on alphas and omegas for the government. Until one day they tear a presenting child from his mother’s arms. Audery quits. She can’t stand her dream job now. The Alphas in the military camps revolt and escape. Audrey wants to have her notes from her job. Little did she know what would happen the day she goes to get them. Julian leaks government documents that tell of the government's treatment of alphas and omegas. He goes to collect information and runs into Audrey. Audrey present as an omega and it all hit the fan. Will Audrey survive her first heat? Will Julian help her? Will the alpha care for his omega? Can they cross to safety? I loved this book. It’s a new twist on alpha and omega treatment. This is a sweet romance with some heat and I recommend it.
This was a quick read. Less than 200 pages. You know what to expect when you read an alpha/omega story. This book delivered.
Julian was a solid character. He was haunted by his past, yet he didn’t let it stop him. He openly admitted to not being a good person on a few occasions. His actions proved how ready he was to be better. A deserving person.
I was left wanting more from Audrey. From the start she reminded herself to compartmentalize her emotions. She seemed to have stayed in that state. She knew she wanted to open up to Julian, and she did. It just didn’t seem like she fully threw herself into it even with them fleeing to Canada.
0.5 stars (only cos I can't give it 0 stars) WHAT. THE. FUCK. DID. I. JUST. READ????????!!!!!!!! I only downloaded this in the first place cos I thought it was a sweeter version of Haunting Adeline (cos of a reel my friend sent me), but IT FUCKING WASN'T. This was hands down on of the worst books I've read in a really long time. WHAT WAS UP WITH THE WHOLE PURRING, MATING GLANDS AND SHIT THINGS????? bro. just no. AND OMG when they kept referring to her p*ssy as a "slick" and his c*ck as his "knot"??!!! WTF WAS THAT???!!! Just complete weirdness and chaos and disgustingness. NO, NO, JUST NO, THANK YOU. *crying*
I never imagined that I would ever DNF an Omegaverse story, but here I am, dropping this one like hot cakes. Sorry, but I couldn't immerse myself into this novella. It's not even because I dislike novellas but there wasn't anything about the MCs or their chemistry (or lack thereof) that could captivate me. I admit I might be going through a book slum because nothing seems to be satisfactory these days.
Sighs, so yeah, this one didn't do it for me at all. I wasn't into the story or the characters' romance, which I must say is the most important factor for me. There wasn't anything I would call...special.
I kind of like the story at the beginning, because of the suspense feeling. The way author describe the story at the beginning makes me wanting to know more about Audrey. But, later on, I realize that, 'till the end the story didn't really answer all of the question in my mind. Even if I do get the answer, it is not satisfying. Also, I found it hard to really understand Audrey and Julian's emotion. I cannot go deep. There are also a few part that I found cringe but it's okay. I can handle it.
*I'm not a fan of fantasy novel as I always have a hard time to understand and imagine it. But, this one is easy to read. Finish this less than a day.
You know how there's always that one day at school where you have a safety and first aid training? The one where none of the students really pay attention but they're just happy to get a day off?
This book is that day. There's nothing wrong with the book, it's not even bad, to be honest. But it's not great. It's not a 4 star book either.
The plot is there for the sake of being there, and the characters are okayish, a little cute if I may. And he feeds her cat (priorities, baby).
It's a short one and it doesn't take a lot of your time so I'm not even mad at the read.
2.5 i was supposed to read possession but just realized i read obsession but oh well. this book was fine it was super short and quick but i don’t know if i’m really into the whole alpha omega thing. no harm no fowl but i just wasn’t really into it especially with them calling eachother alpha and everything with that stuff but that’s just a me thing. the smut wasn’t terrible like i said super short so your not going to get a ton of details the whole book is basically them realizing their mates and accepting that and falling in love buy like just a bunch of sex. i don’t kkow i didn’t think this was worth my while

Obsession by Liliana Carlisle is part of her Forbidden Alphas Series. We meet Audrey, who is working as a lab research assistant comparing data of Alpha and Omegas. And as we found out in the first book, a young child presented as an Alpha and that caused all the chaos to start. Audrey didn't agree with what they were doing, so she quit her job. Audrey meets Julian, an Alpha, who is on the run because he escaped the military where they keep all Alphas. Lots of political intrigue. Lots of steam. No cheating. No bullying. HEA. My favorite character was Pearl!
This is brilliant, it has all the feels. Audrey who didn’t know she was an omega until she met Julian, an escaped alpha, worked for the government in research not knowing what was being done to the alphas. Julian was one of the leaders who helped the alphas escape the prison/army they were locked in. They both have emotional and psychological issues to overcome and their road to an hea is rocky. Plenty of heat and action and very well written. Another winner for Ms Carlisle.
Plot: Audrey is a scientist working on projects connected to the Alpha-Omega dynamic. But when the research goes too far, she resigns, and at the same time, the world is changing fast with an Alpha rebellion. Julian, one of the Alpha leaders, meets Audry and knows something about her that she doesn't even know about herself. But can they be together without the world encroaching?
Commentary: I think Julian is the most alpha-iest of this author's alphas. He doesn't take no for an answer (but he still cares for his omega), he has answers to her questions which he doles out in small does, and he takes what he wants even when he doesn't quite understand it himself. I would have liked a lot more background (especially since I didn't read the previous book - I'm all out of order!) about the world in which they live - it sounds really interesting!
Such a good story! Audrey has had a rough go lately and poor Julian just had a rough life, but together they might just be able to turn it around for both of them.Pearl, however, steals the show and definitely earns points for Julian with Audrey. I really enjoy this series and can't wait to see how everything is going to play out.
Audrey & Julian I really enjoyed the story. It was a pretty quick read and kept my attention. There was a little suspense, angst and steam! I like both characters, but Julian was my favorite. I loved his determination to convince or to have Audrey. The banter between them is great, but when Audrey finally gives in...its hot!! The spicy scenes were 🔥 🥵.
I absolutely LOVED this story. It was a WILD ride from start to finish. Liliana captures the readers attention with such emotion and depth; it's like you're FEELING everything in real life.
Best book I've read by far and that's saying something as I read at least 2-3 books per day.
Thank you, Liliana, for another great story. My fav right now 💯
The characters of this book are chefs kiss Audrey is such a firecracker and Julian is a patient alpha when it comes to her and pearl is everyones dream animal. I give it 5 stars you won't be disappointed reading this book.
