Magnes Museum, in a singed edition of 1,000 copies. First When the scholar Meir lost his wife of twenty years, he did not hire the town matchmaker to find him another. Instead he collected mud from the bed of a river, hauled it home, and sculpted it into a girl on the floor of his cellar.

Jonathon Keats is an American conceptual artist and experimental philosopher known for creating large-scale thought experiments. Keats was born in New York City and studied philosophy at Amherst College. He now lives in San Francisco and Italy.

Very good, unexpected. Reminds one of Borges, and of some Michael Ende stories. A tragic rendering of Pygmalion as Golem creator.

Some of Keats' art projects are wonderfully goofy, others are tacky. I suspect he has a source of income other than his art works: there is something of a hobbyist about him.
