Rate this book
Thomas Hauser has been called one of boxing's greatest writers. The Boxing Scene, Hauser s provocative new anthology, contains all of his trademark insights and candor as he peels away layers of hypocrisy to reveal the men who make up the contemporary boxing landscape.

Hauser exposes the inner workings of HBO Sports; examines the phenomenon of mixed martial arts as it relates to boxing; and records the amusing encounter between his 81-year-old mother and larger-than-life boxing impresario Don King. The Boxing Scene also updates Hauser s personal and professional thoughts on superstars like Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, and Bernard Hopkins as well as fight promoter Bob Arum, announcer Bob Sheridan and a host of others.

The Boxing Scene recreates another year in professional boxing and adds to Hauser s definitive record of the sport.

In the book "The boxing scene" by Thomas Hauser it highlights a lot of past boxing history and a lot of events happening in the boxing world today. The book was very interesting to me because the way the book was structured. I really like how Thomas Hauser talks about how the sport of boxing is way different as to when it first originated. I feel that he amplified that in a positive type way and the skill of many fighters through the years. What also interested me about the story was that he gave credit to all the fighters for shaping what the sport of boxing is today but he also pointed out big name fighters in the game such as Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar Delahoya, Ricky Hatton, and many more. A main event in the book was probably when Thomas Hauser talks about his personal professional experiences in the boxing world such as working for Hbo Sports. *A Famous boxing television network*. I feel that is the main event because he relates to his past boxing experiences and compares them to the game now and how it changed in a good way. Overall “The boxing scene” was a very interesting/exciting book. I would highly recommend this book to someone looking for a story to tell someone else about because it will have the reader wanting to keep going. I feel like the main targeted audience for this book would probably be boxing fans and upcoming boxers.
