The most complete guide to Great Smoky Mountain National Park Stunning photographs and drawings of the park's flora and fauna Natural history and a handy field guide The ecosystems within Great Smoky Mountain National Park--from old growth forests to balds--support a wide variety of birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, mammals, and plants. This new addition to the Visitor's Companion series describes and illustrates in full color dozens of these plant and animal species. It also explores the park's geology, climate, and history--at once a traveler's guide, field guide, and natural history of one of America's most popular national parks.
An excellent reference for what I think is the most perfect place on earth. The format was easy to understand and organized beautifully. I strongly reccomend anyone planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains to take a look at this. I have been dozens of times and still found new and interesting things I look forward to exploring on my next trip. This was a library book, I definately plan on purchasing a copy for myself. If nothing else I can look at the fantastic photos every time I want to escape, if only in my mind, to the mountains I love.
