Blade The only woman I want is the only one who doesn’t want me in return. The Brotherhood is my life, and I’ve always been satisfied with that. But now, seeing our president and enforcer loved up with bonds they never saw coming, I’m starting to crave one of my own. Unfortunately, the only one I want to come home to at night is the only woman who rides with us during the day. I know Roxy wants no part of the bond. Even if she felt it, she’d fight me tooth and nail—maybe literally. She doesn’t need a mate to protect her, kill for her—or die for her. Trouble is coming from us at all sides, and Roxy’s right. This isn’t the time. Not now—and maybe not ever. Thing is—nature might have other ideas. And me? I’m perfectly happy to let nature take its course.
Roxy I don’t need a mate. I don’t even want one. All my life, the only thing I ever wanted was to run with the Brotherhood. A bond threatens all of that. Even if—maybe especially if—it’s with Blade. The only bear who’s ever caught my eye, and now—maybe the one nature has chosen for me. Thing is—I’ve never been great at being told what to do. And I’m definitely not about to start now.
This was an awesome bear shifter romance story and the story line was fabulously put together from beginning to end. I love how the author really brought the characters together and you could sense the sexual chemistry between Blade and Roxy. Eva Kent is a fabulous author and this is an example of her great work and if this book is anything to go by I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.
Talk about hot! Roxy is one strong, feisty, sassy, and scared woman. She has dreamt all her life to belong to the brotherhood and has done everything she can to prove to the Elders that she belongs. She does not want a mat as that would mess everything up – they would expect her to bear cubs and stay at home – something Roxy is not wanting any part of! Blade is one of the hottest men around in the brotherhood and has no problem with women. However, there is one woman he wants who he is afraid to tell how he feels because he knows how she feels.
I was rooting for Blade and Roxy the whole time and wanted Roxy to get over her fear of being “caged”. I loved how Blade was so understanding of Roxy’s fears and would wait until the end of time for her. Tension, drama, violence, and chemistry are just a few things you get while reading this story. We are also introduced to some new characters who I can’t wait to learn more about. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems ARC’s and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Im reading this and all I can think is how selfish Roxy is. We spend the entire book talking about what Roxy wants what she needs how she’s going to get it, but we don’t hear much about Blade other than he wants her. She had the opportunity to share with one of her friends, and instead decided she couldn’t talk to anybody else that she had to go with alone. She has an amazing experience with Blaze and his first thought after when he kissed her forehead was, she’s not gonna like that. SERIOUSLY!!She can’t even have a tender moment?!? Also, Blade doesn’t learn about the witch visit. Not kewl
Mostly, I just found her to be the biggest brat ever making unilateral decisions for them both.

She's determined to earn her spot and prove she is more than a womb. He has the patience of a Saint and loves her wild spirit. Will he be able to prove he doesn't want to tame her? Will she learn that she can have him and her dreams at the same time?
I LOVED Blade. I loved how he was there for her and determined to prove that he didn't see her as the elders in the gang saw her. She was definitely stubborn, but then again I could see her point on why she was afraid to give in to their bond. Great read!
They have totally opposite personalities. She is trying to become a part of the MC secretly she is attracted to him as he is to her, but she has worked too hard to get where she is without giving up. When they find out they are fated will it change things all together. Can Blade get Roxy to see that he is in her corner and wouldn't allow her to give up her goals and ambitions. This shifter story drew me in and had me in Blade's and Roxy's corner.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
This isn't a "slow" burn, it's glacial. The vast majority of the book is spent in the fmc's head where she's saying over and over that she doesn't want to throw away everything she's worked for and that being someone's mate will mean the end of her freedom. Pages and pages are dedicated to her inner struggle where her frustration is rehashed repeatedly. Honestly, the mmc deserves better.
It's better than Talon but, it's not good. I've never hated the word "slick" so much in my life. The writing is the worst part of the book but, no category is good. The characters are decent. The plot was low stakes. The world building is stupid. As previously stated the writing was awful. The pacing is okay. So overall, it's a meh for me.
Roxy is just trying to overcome the president of no woman allowed in the shifter gang. The elders just want her to stay home and have cubs. She may want a cub in the future but right now she just wants a spot she deserves in the gang.
Blade is such a sweet heart I would not have made it as long as Roxy did staying away from him. I loved this book. I can't wait to read the next one. The first two books were wonderful. I fall in love with each couple.
I love how spunky and kickass Roxy is! But I love her vulnerability when faced with the choices that she'll have to make! Blade is a total sweetheart! What's not to love about him?
