Almost too much information regarding films that took place or shot in New York City. But nevertheless it's an important piece of knowledge and a great reference guide to New York itself.
I am a huge fan of how cities are portrayed in films. New York like Los Angeles is a great American city, and usually these pair of cities become characters in various films. I feel sometimes that New York or Los Angeles get top billing in films. For instance, Los Angeles and Jack Nicholson in Roman Polanski's "Chinatown." Or New York City with Burt Landcaster and Tony Curtis in "Sweet Smell of Success."
Oh, and get the Los Angeles version of this book as well. Essential.
Such a wonderful account of New York's movie history. I live in NYC and am taking this book with me for my own personal tour of the city. If you love film, this book will help you merge your experience of NYC with the best movie stories and places. Beautiful!
