Wild R Farm #5

Willing Hands

Rate this book
I’ve got a temper as wild as the bear I hold inside. Normally, I’m an easy-going, caring guy, but if someone crosses me, I’ll use my claws and shifter strength to teach them a lesson.

I’m lucky to have found a job at Wild R Farm. I shouldn’t hope for more, certainly not love, but when Ryan, our reclusive and very human horse trainer, gifts me with one of his rare smiles, I allow myself to get my hopes up.

He has darkness in his past just like I do, and it’s coming for him. I intend to prove to him that I will protect him no matter the danger, but is there any chance love could bloom in the midst of so much pain?

***** Wild R Farm, is a working farm that is open to LGBT, and folks who need a lift up.
* Will is a big Bear shifter

and injustice fires him up, but he loves working with the animals. Too bad he didn't finish Veternarian School.
* Ryan, with his small ponytail and scars is an amazing,

gifted horse trainer, but very closed off. Will begins by asking Ryan to a picnic dinner, long walks, some talks, and if romance between these men doesn't work out, Will still wants him as a friend. Will is hoping for more, because his "bear" is highly interested in quiet Ryan.

Will and Ryan move slowly, and then there's trouble on the farm's doorstep, as a bad guy from Ryan's past is out of jail and threatening.
Ryan's story is incredibly sad, and there is a lot to it. Farm owner, Cole, wolf shifter, Travis, a stallion shifter, plus Levi the mountain lion shifter, and the men pull it together and convince Ryan to stay, not run.
We have a close call with a horse poisoning, then an attempt to burn the horse barn down, both of which Will saves the day. Wes's research and and the cops are all figuring out things, while Will and Ryan are falling in love.

Super hot, dirty, raw and powerful sex and emotions are aplenty.

This series has exciting stories with action, lots of sex, and deeply thought-filled characters.
How will the guys resolve the threats?
ENJOY !

I was lucky enough to proofread this book. I fell for Will (convenient name, I say) in the previous book. A big bear of a man with a heart of gold, but the temper of a wildcat. When he meets Ryan, however, that wild kitty now demands to protect the frightened man, and the bear can make it happen.

Silvia Violet does shifters in the best possible way. This is one of my favorite series, because Will <3's shifters!

I had read the Wild R Farm series years ago and when the author revised and rereleased them under her new pen name, I decided to do a reread. The books stand up to the test of time. They were one of the first found family series I'd read and that feeling shines through in the reboot.
Ryan is an ex con that needs to heal from a traumatic past and Will is a bear shifter who has temper control issues. He's also extremely protective of what he considers his, and Ryan is definitely his.
This was a quick, enjoyable read with just a touch of angst. Secondary characters add humor and depth to the story. Can't wait for Zach and Brandon's story.

Same complaints and the last books. This time, I don't think we have a big age gap though. They're of age sort of unspecified, but both early to mid twenties. Still too many sex scenes to plot ratio, it slows down the story too much.

This was one of the better books in the series. Well, it was for me anyway. I really liked Will and Ryan as two individual characters and as a couple. Ryan went through so much in the past and I feel like Will was really good at helping Ryan through the shit in his head. Nothing felt forced and I was enjoying the read more than some of the other books. But that might change when I re-read them.

The bear shifter thing was nice. It was a really interesting change from the hoarse/wolf shifters in the previous books and even though I liked them, because I really did, it was something new for me. And I really liked it.

I liked the fact we got to keep up to date with the other characters. All couples from the previous books made appearances here. And that was nice. I'm used to only seeing some of the couples sequels, not all of them. And we got an idea of who the couple in the next book will be. It's not as exciting for me as I would have liked. I happen to strongly dislike one of the two men in the couple, so that kinda sucks. But I'll probably get over that minor detail before the next book is released. I hope so, anyway.

Overall, I think fans of the series will enjoy this book. And maybe fans of shifter stories. It was definitely an entertaining read and it kept me wanting more.

A sweet book about 2 wound hearts finding each other. Will, a big bear shifter that has a terrible temper but a heart of gold and Ryan, a young man who has scars on his body and mind.

This is the fourth book in the Wild R Farm series and the first one that I have read in this series. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read. I was able to enjoy it without having first read the previous books. This is the story of Will and Ryan. Will is a bear shifter who has a fear of losing control of his bear when he gets angry. He gave up on his dream of becoming a vet because of a bear outburst. No one was hurt but he decided to close that book on his dream. Ryan is a new ranch farm hand. He is just the like the horses that he trains. Shy and skittish. Slow to trust. He background is horrific. Since people have betrayed him so often, he now has walls up to keep everyone out. This is their story. Will is besotted with Ryan but recognizes that he has to move slowly. He doesn't want to spook him. He is kind and gentle with Ryan. Ryan slowly starts to trust him. But then trouble from his past is back. He doesn't want anyone else to be hurt in the crossfire and decides that leaving is the best course of action. Obviously he has underestimated the folks at the Wild R Farm. They would never let one of their own go through something on their own. Like it or not, Ryan would have help. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the chemistry between Will and Ryan. As well as the relationship between all who work the farm. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Willing Hands is the 4th book in the Wild R Farm series from Silvia Onyx. Willing Hands is an M/M shifter romance with a great story and just the right amount of heat. Although this is the fourth book in the series, this is a stand-alone novel. Willing Hands is the story of bear shifter Will, who is introduced in Embracing Need, and farm hand Ryan. If you are interested in more of Will’s backstory or how he comes on to the farm I would suggest reading Embracing Need but Willing Hands is a wonderful story on its own.
Will has been on his own his whole life and wants nothing more than someone to love and a place to call home but he is afraid to trust himself to control his temper. Ryan has been hurt and betrayed by the people who were supposed to care for him. He has made a life for himself at Wild R. Ryan wants to take the love and comfort Will offers but refuses to believe he is worthy of love. This is a beautiful story about finding love, second chances, and the family you make along the way.

Phenomenal!

This book is amazing! It’s back to Wild R Ranch for Will and Ryan’s story. Ryan has a past he’s trying to forget but it soon comes back to find him. Fearing the danger it will bring to the ranch he tries to leave. But his friends at the ranch aren’t having it. I love the way they all stand up for Ryan and vow to protect him from whatever comes their way. I also love the way Will and Ryan’s relationship develops as the story unfolds. As always, Tristan is a hoot and Cole does his growly best to show his employees that they are his family and he’ll stick by them through thick and thin. The confidence Ryan finds in himself with Will at his side is amazing and just adds to this already amazing tale!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I really liked the latest book in the Wild R Farm series!!! Will is a bear shifter who has had some trouble in the past keeping his bear under control and with good reason. Ryan is new to the farm just trying to survive and hide from his past. Will feels a strong connection to Ryan and wants to get to know him better. Ryan lines Will too but is scared to get too close. Ryan can’t deny that there is something very special about Will and he can’t deny how he makes him feel. When Ryan’s past finds him, Ryan wants to run and keep everyone safe. What Ryan wasn’t counting on was a very stubborn bear and his new family at the farm ready to do whatever it takes to protect their own. Will isn’t gonna let Ryan go without a fight.

Such a great story and I loved every minute of it!! Can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series, well done!!!

It would appear that this is going to be a 4-star series for me! I read the first four books back in 2014 and had no problem jumping right back into the series after four years! These are NOT great books and there was the occasional missing word that had me stopping and going back to see if I had misread the sentence, but other than that? It kept me entertained and was short enough to read in one set down... MY kind of read!!!

Will and Ryan were two men that had an instant attraction for each other, but neither one was comfortable for their own reason to approach the other one... but, life has a way of seeing that things get done at the right time and in the right manner! *grin*

This is the fourth book in the Wild R series and all the characters still growing on me. This book is about Ryan, who is a hand on the farm and Will, who came into the picture in the previous book and is a bear shifter. Ryan has a troubled past and thinks he must face all his trouble on his own. He learns fast enough that that isn’t te way things work on the farm. We see that Ryan slowly learns that it is ok to lean on other people and Will learns that there is still hope he can be what he wants to be.
Off course we get a sneak peak of the next couple and I’m already looking forward to the next book.

Willing Hands - Wild R Farm Series - book 4 Absolutely love this series!! Although not necessary I would recommend reading other books in this series first just to give you a background on the characters. Will and Ryan have a past they are hiding from. Will is a bear shifter who ran from his past because he had trouble controlling his temper, even though it was for the right reason. Ryan who is a felon is very quiet and receives a note from someone in his past. Together Will and Ryan find a way to overcome their past.

Will and Ryan came into this relationship with hangups and emotional burdens. Yet both overcame their inner turmoil to join for a meaningful life together. Will's bear, though being more aggressive (that's a bear's nature after all) recognized Ryan's importance b/f Will did and thus played an essential role in both their lives. My one disappointment was not learning more about Stick's punishment though glad to read that young Dustan's life held a promising future after what Stick and his cronies forced Dustin into doing. This book was a great addition to this Wild R Farm series.

Will is a bear shifter who has trouble controlling his shift at times. Ryan is the new hire on the farm with secrets of his own.
They have an immediate connection but are both hesitant to form a deeper relationship due to their pasts.
When they do move forward, Ryan’s pasts come calling and they will need the help of the whole farm family to protect what they are building together.

A story with a bit of angst, suspense, hurt/comfort, found family and moving forward in life. I loved catching up with the previous characters and am eager for more.

Ryan just about broke my heart. He is a horse trainer and keeps to himself. He doesn't feel he is worth anyone loving or getting close to others since he is an ex-con.
Will is a bear shifter with a temper that has gotten him into trouble in the past . Getting him kicked out of vet school.
When trouble comes to the Wild R Farm with the intent to harm Ryan. He finds out that he is part of the pack and they take care of their own.
Will and Ryan are really sweet together.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt so bad for Ryan but loved how he found happiness with Will. The plot is great and flows smooth without lagging the plot and that the action was great and didn't seemed rushed at the end. This is a great read for anyone who loves a good plot with a happy ending. I received this book as an ARC and a giving my honest opinion.

Great story

I am absolutely loving this series. This time it’s Will and Ryan’s turn. These poor guys have been through the ringer so I was really excited that they both got to find each other. I can’t wait to read the next story.

Another great read from this author. I loved the “teddy bear” Will and Ryan. Though they both had a past that was hurtful, they found a way to help each other. They were so cute together. Enjoyed this book.

Ryan itu korban pelecehan seksual yang dilakukan oleh pamannya sendiri dan bahkan pamannya sharing Ryan kepada teman-temannya. Hal tersebut mengurangi kenikmatan membaca buku ini.

Ryan is withdrawn, shy and doesn’t trust anyone, Will wants to help and protect him., when an old foe of Ryan’s comes calling all the men band together to help Ryan. I love found families which is the heart of Wild R Farm. This was a roller coaster ride of emotions, I couldn’t put the book down. I love Silvia’s writing style and this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I absolutely recommend this book.

I really enjoyed Will and Ryan’s story. Will had a big heart but his temper gave him that wild edge. Ryan was a quiet guy who kept to himself but Will slowly got past his walls. These two were a perfect combo of sweet and badass.

4.5 Stars!

Will’s story…sigh…

And look at that cover…

Being a fan of this series I was very excited to get to reading this fifth book. I was happy to see a full story again, as much as I love Tristan and Wes, and I was happy to see this new story focused on these “new” main characters.

What can I say about Will? I mean who wouldn’t love a man/bear like Will?

Then there’s Ryan who’s the total opposite – shy, abused, insecure – but the spark is so there.

So the question is can they find enough common ground to at least try to make it work?

One of the things I think I personally like most in this series is the familiarity; the loving feeling you get from reading about all these men. Not only the main characters in this story but all the familiar names that you come around too, because you have met them in former stories. It’s one of the reasons that for me, a new book in this series will always be a must read. (and I would definitely recommend reading it for that matter)

I tend to feel a lot of respect and genuine appreciation for the fact that there are authors out there who dare to stick to a series and the characters in them instead of choosing the “safety” of a standalone edition.

The family aspect of the characters used in this particular story pushes the story up. I mean what is not to love about the fierce protectiveness of Cole, the nurturing of Jonah, the friendly bantering of Tristan and the way all of the guys treat Ryan as part of their family, not letting him leave and sticking by him.

Will isn’t going to let Ryan go when he finally finds the opening he’s been waiting for.

Ryan on the other hand doesn’t want anyone at the farm hurt or involved for that matter because of him and his past.

But when things come to shove Ryan finds out what it means to have “family”and friends and a man to love by your side. He finds out what the farm and its inhabitants stand for exactly.

With help from Will especially, he finds out that maybe there is a way to finally leave his past behind him.

With the help of the man who helped Ryan all these years ago when he was confined to prison, someone found and contacted by Wes, they are able to track down his nemesis – his worst nightmare. It smooths the path to a happily-ever-after he never thought he would be able to have.

A very nice extra surprise, I may add, is that near the end of this story, author Silvia Violet leaves us with the desperate need of wanting her to work on the next part of this series really fast. I mean what’s cooking between “new” employee Brandon and newly instated veterinarian Zach?

Please do tell us Miss Violet…

Will was the bear shifter Tristan met in captivity in the last book, Taming Tristan. He was strong, capable but never stayed in one place too long. His bear had a temper and more often than he would care to admit, he ends up scaring people. He feels he lost out on the opportunity to become a vet and carried around the worry he would once again fail to control of his bear, thereby losing this new life he was starting to build on the Wild R.

Ryan was the skittish human who didn’t speak much and occasionally would gift Will with shy smiles that Will desperately wanted more of. Ryan’s past was dark and dangerous, but anyone who watched how he handled the horses under his care knew, that despite what came before, Ryan was a good person. Not that Ryan wanted believe it.

Will made Ryan want things he hadn’t wanted with anyone for a very long time. Will was gruff and growly, but he didn’t scare Ryan. When Ryan saw Will shift for the first time, and I thought maybe Will’s bear helped Ryan to come out of his shell a bit because he wasn’t great with people but he was excellent with animals.

The details of Ryan’s past were divulged a bit at a time and several times I was ready to take Will to the side and council him that he too needed to share. When Ryan’s past rose up to threaten Will and the ranch, Will needed to do some fast talking and quick maneuvering to keep Ryan from running. Being on his own for so long, never fully trusting anyone, Ryan didn’t know how to lean on his friends at the ranch.

There came a point near the end where I had to disagree with Will. Personally I would have hogtied and put Ryan under the bed instead of allowing him to participate in a search. I had a conniption fit myself and a, “Oh, no, you did not!” moment. Somebody needs to sit down with that boy and explain to him there are things you never, ever do.

In the end both Ryan and Will changed, each giving the other something that prompted them to strive to be better. They discovered they both had a strong circle of friends who were more like family. The sweet moments of their growing relationship caught fire turning smoking hot. I enjoyed that Ryan’s issues didn’t magically go away, nor did Will’s insecurities over his bear’s temper. Something else to note, the Wild R was full of people who’ve been drawn bright and vivid so that even as I’ve read through the series, they didn’t turn faceless… and reminded me why I bought a roll of duct tape for Wes and Tristan.

If you like shifter stories, growly and impatient bears, battered souls, a place where friends are more like family, with a bit of action, then you may enjoy Willing Hands.
