When I agree to help my best friend with a photo shoot involving a stranger, I don’t expect to hit it off with the guy posing in the photos with me. Somehow, I do.
There’s an undeniable heat between us, and electric energy surges through my veins whenever he touches me. When he invites me back to his place for a one-night stand after we finish the shoot, I don’t even hesitate.
He’s attentive, funny, sweet and kind. And his mouth is downright filthy, hearing my fantasies and delivering on every one. It’s only twenty-four hours, no strings attached. That’s it. Except there’s one tiny problem; he makes me feel more alive than I have in my entire life.
I can’t stop thinking about him, and I’m wondering if he’s thinking about me, too. I try to tell myself it’s just camera chemistry. Adrenaline from a fun photography session, not actual attraction. There’s no way men like this exist in real life, is there? If so, Aiden Wood is the blueprint, and I’m the sucker who’s desperate for more of him. One night wasn’t enough.
Chelsea is a flight attendant and romance author who writes fun, fresh and flirty love stories with plenty of spice. When she's not making fictional characters banter for twenty chapters before they finally kiss or serving chicken or pasta on an airplane, you can find her trying to pet as many dogs as she can.
The idea for Camera Chemistry came to me randomly and I thought I’d jot a few ideas down. Annnnd here we are.
Look, y’all. This isn’t poetic or full of deep prose with heart wrenching love declarations. It’s two strangers who meet, have a one night stand, and then realize they miss each other. Quick and to the point!
It’s a novella with LOTS of spice. The romance scenes are WAY open door (the door doesn’t exist) so if smut isn’t your thing…I’d skip this one. There is a plot, though, and Aiden and Maggie are two fun characters.
Anyway, I’m rambling. I wrote this as a “eh, why not” story and liked it a lot. I hope you do too!
This book was completely amazing! Two strangers doing an intimate photoshoot on Valentine’s Day!!?
The catch? They don't know cach other until the moment of the photoshoot/Where they start as strangers meeting for the first time and end up in lingerie. The chemistry between there was freaking on point. 🥵🤌🏼 After the session they agree to have a one night stand and the rest is history. The smut??? 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Impeccable. Amazing! Perfect. Very explicit. And the tension oh god! Amazing 192 pages. Super fast paced. Amazing amazing. Super recommend it!
he’s a daddy (in both ways) and a pediatric oncologist and she’s a neurologist 🫶🏼 both divorced. Both struggled with previous relationships. The book is short but it has so many depth in it 😭 it talks about fragile subjects in a very delicate way
ps.: Valentine’s Day, age gap, one night stand, love ar first sight 🤌🏼💫
Currently reading notes: Just finished listening to Caught on Camera and this bonus novella is right after, sweet! Kinda wish it was first, since it was published first and I already know a good portion about these characters.
Maggie & Aiden (45) ~ single dad to a teenager ~ Doctors ~ one night stand ~ some steamage
Narration notes: Great job, but not thrilled the same 2 narrate the whole series. Makes it confusing if listening back to back.
I loved loved this little novella. Can a 170-pages novel break my heart and put it back together? Yes, it can.
Camera Chemistry delivers in the romance department, the comedy, the steam content, and the swoony moments. I was giggling and kicking my feet in the air all throughout the book LIKE FOR REAL. The way I can say that this book has the soulmate trope. These two couldn't be more perfect for each other. IT WAS FATE THAT THEY ACTUALLY MET AND EVEN IF THEY WEREN'T TO MEET THAT WAY THEY WOULD HAVE MET EVENTUALLY. It was that soulmate coded, I tell you!!!
📸 Strangers to Lovers 📸 Forced Proximity 📸 Single Parent 📸 Age Gap 📸 Novella Length
Don't let this cartoon cover fool you - this book is HOT and so. much. fun!
Two strangers met up for an intimate photoshoot and damn do sparks fly. They agree to a one night with no strings attached and of course, our two MCs don't want it to end (and tbh, I didn't either). I definitely loved the way the author had these two meet up in the end and get their HEA.
All around super fun vibes and a great story in a novella-length book! Bravo!
This was a steamy little novella that was pure fun! Two divorced doctors meet for the first time when they agree to do a candid Valentine's day photo shoot.
Their chemistry is off the charts though and they decide to have a 24hr no strings affair since neither is looking for a relationship. Of course things get deeper than expected and they end up falling for one another except they take their sweet time admitting it.
Other than a slightly annoying miscommunication trope at the end I devoured this in practically one setting and couldn't get enough. For an insta love kind of story it just worked for me and I thought we got to know both characters really well.
Definitely recommended if you're looking for a fun Valentine's day love story!
Something was missing for me with their chemistry - maybe some outside tension that added some steam to the relationship? It was a good short read though.
Plot: Maggie (h) is a neurosurgeon who had a quiet life after divorcing her now ex-husband and the same could have been said about Aiden (H) who was an oncologist and was a father to a teen daughter after his ex-wife realised she was into women. Maggie's bestfriend was a photographer who proposed with the idea of a shoot which would include two strangers meeting and forming connections over different sets and then ending with a tasteful boudoir shoot to express formed intimacy. Maggie and Aiden were truly the textbook definition of insta-connection. After the shoot both the horny kids decided to meet up and came to the end conclusion that they will give each other just 24hrs and won't meet again because both of them swore off of dating after their respective doomed weddings. They had great sex. And when it was time to say bye bye none of them wanted it but because of them being fucking pansies they kept it in and stayed away because they thought the other wanted that. After some sense knocking into their brains Maggie decided to be upfront about her feelings which pushed Aiden to confess that he liked her too. And they lived happily ever after.
"Now you’re going to suck my cock like the good girl you are.”
Aiden wanted to put it out what he wanted out of the 24hr sex stand between them and was told by the heroine that she despite being married was very inexperienced in sex because her and her ex-husband were not sexually the...well best. He only fucked her a kid and when Maggie realised she couldn't have kids they stopped.
Aiden wanted Maggie to write down whatever she wanted to do and try for the first time and oh she did and oh the fucked her and ate her out and made her crawl and fingered her (with a hint of exhibitionism) 68 ways to heaven.
10000/10 I freaking loved this so much, I still have butterflies after finishing it 😂
Maggie’s BFF is a photographer who is doing a “strangers” photoshoot and asked her to be one of the models and pose with a total stranger. Aiden gets conned into being the other model by his friend and they’re both super nervous. It turns out that they have a lot in common - both doctors, both divorced, and both wrote off getting into another relationship. They have immediate chemistry and decide to meet up after the shoot and have a one time, 24-hour-stand.
I’m so obsessed with both Aiden and Maggie. For being a novella, we got such a good look into who each of them are and their pasts that it felt like a full length book. They both felt like such real people, both insecure about their bodies and what they bring to the table. Aiden being a single dad. Maggie being messed up from her previous relationship and not being able to explore much of her sexuality. The honest conversations they have. Not to mention the spice… holy 🥵🥵 the ending brought it all back together and was truly the perfect way to finish it our (though I wish we had an extra epilogue or SOMETHIN just because I’m so in love with them 😂) Chelsea really outdid herself with this and I’m looking forward to Shawn and Lacey’s story!!!
this was a quick read. i read the entire novella in 1 day. i appreciated that the author put content warnings in the beginning because most authors don’t do that.
if you don’t like extreme spice, this novella is definitely not for you. i knew it was going to be spicy going into it but i had no idea how spicy. there were points where it was actually too much for me that i skimmed or skipped through some of the scenes.
while i did somewhat enjoy the non-spicy scenes between maggie and aiden, i felt like their relationship would’ve had smoother development if it was in novel form. it would’ve been cool if we saw their story fully fleshed out. their relationship was developed way too quickly.
there wasn’t any character development as far as maggie and aiden individually go which isn’t surprising considering the length of this novella.
i don’t have any strong feelings or emotions towards this novella. if you’re into spice and a quick read, this is the novella for you.
i enjoyed chelsea curto’s writing style a lot. descriptive, full of life, and there was never a point in the book where i wanted to put it down. i did want to see how it was going to end.
thank you to chelsea curto for sending me your novella!
Camera Chemistry is an exceptionally written novella. The characters are well developed, the chemistry built between them was so strong, and it felt believable. Chelsea didn’t rely too hard on the insta love/soulmate trope, instead focusing on the intense lust Aiden and Maggie had for one another, then building a relationship from that.
This book is SPICY, but there is a lot of substance built in, as well. It’s sexy as hell and I really enjoyed every single page!
Holy spice, this was so much fun! I don’t want to give too much away since it’s a short read, but it follows two main characters who are set up by their best friends to participate in a strangers’ photoshoot. I loved the premise, and while the relationship develops quickly and is very character-driven, it was incredibly enjoyable. The exploration of the spicy list and the connection between the characters was fantastic. I’m definitely looking forward to diving into more of Chelsea Curto’s work.

I was expecting this to be a 5 star read because of how much I loved the Companion Project, but unfortunately, this didn't work for me. The beginning part of the story hooked me in and gave me 5 star vibes but once I got to the part where the plot was taking place I realized that I didn't really care about the characters and I think that's why I didn't care about the story as much as I would have wanted to. I feel like my main issues with the story was I am not a fan of instalove and that's what their relationship was and I didn't feel any chemistry between them at all. I also had a problem with the main characters because I felt that they didn't have much of a personality which made me not want to care about them. I was expecting for this to be a fun and cute holiday novella but it missed the mark for me. Even though this didn't work for me, I think I am still going to continue reading what this author writes just because of my love for the Companion Project.
"...there's an easy, natural beauty about her. The glow is similar to a summer day when the air is warm, and the sun is bright in the cloud-free sky. You tip your head back, close your eyes, and relish in the blissfulness of serenity, a picture of perfection. That's what it's like to be in her presence. It's overwhelming."
I'm not a big fan of novellas, not least because I think that books of less than 200 pages are rushed and sometimes undeveloped. "Camera Chemistry" certainly came along to prove me wrong.
Aiden and Maggie are offered the chance to take part in a photo shoot where, as strangers, the aim is to capture the development of their interaction. And something that begins awkwardly grows into an extremely deep and intense connection. A physical and emotional attraction that left me as a reader super excited and looking forward to the next second.
Despite being a short book, it was a narrative that won me over very quickly. The undoubtedly interesting concept, the way everything centered on the couple without being too suffocating..IT WAS SO GOOD! And of course, I love a single dad trope, so I think it's a good book for anyone who does too.
Read this if you like: - One night stand - Strangers to lovers - Single Dad trope - Age Gap - Forced Proximity - Dual POV
❝he’s painting me like an artist would. i’m his canvas, his muse, the object of his blistering affection.❞ ___________
Usually I do not rate novellas more than 3 stars because for the most part the majority of it is smut. Was there a lot of smut in this? Yes. But there was something different about it that actually gave it some substance and nothing about this book was cringy.
The premise was so good. And the execution was just as good! Was this extremely instalove? Yes. But I actually did not mind it as much mainly because I already knew about it going in and the main chunk of the novella only takes place over a 24 hour or so period. And the two characters actually got to know each other on a deeper level. Which was great because it made their connection not solely based on lust and attraction. I also feel like we as readers really got to know the fmc and mmc in such a short amount of pages. And the writing was really great.
Oh and this mmc was filthy. Like what a man. He’s a man written by a woman for women. I loved him and he loves his tall queens. So 10/10.
If this was a normal book that was longer and had more added to it then I think it could have been a pushing a 5 star. And that’s saying a lot for me.
Can’t wait to continue with the rest of the books, I really think this could be a new favorite series.
This book had such a cute and unique story! I actually really really liked how Maggie and Aiden meet and how they start to get to know each other! Love this series so much
This was not what I was expected. In the beginning, I was pretty into it and interested in them. I kinda liked the way the author wrote them as realistic people, even if the dude was not my type. That was until I got further in after the photoshoot. I hate to say this, but I think I almost puked in my mouth; it was a cheese fest. Wayyyy too sappy, imo. It's one of those things where she's insecure from a past relationship, so he is practically babying her through it all. Confidence is key, babes. He can't give it to you.
On an unrelated note, I hated all the names. One of them had the same name as my aunt, so that was the straw that br0ke the camel's back for me.
Will not return to this series. I like mine a bit more unrealistic, I guess.
SPOILER AHEAD:
She made a list of things she wanted to try in the bedroom. Like okayyy, explore girl. I support. But dear God, I could not for the life of me to take it seriously. Going through the list... I don't know what it was about it but no (I'm cringing right now, actually).
they were saying all the right things but definitely too insta lovey and too much soulmatism for me to be obsessed with it. will be continuing the series tho 🤞🏽
... whatever this was. this is the second book i tried by this author, and it might be the proof that she's not for me. i don't vibe with her writing and can't seem to care about her characters at all.
Maggie and Aiden's instant chemistry leads to a compulsively readable romance with a lot of heart and steam.
After two strangers are paired together for a photoshoot that slowly becomes more intimate, happily single doctors, Maggie and Aiden, find they have more in common than expected and decide to spend one day together. The two quickly become close, but I didn't really ever feel like insta-love to me because they have such open communication in the beginning about their expectations and desires - even if those communication skills are put to the test later in the story. They have a real connection that builds in a short timeframe, but feels earned and real despite the unorthoox premise.
