More like a 2.75 but I couldn’t bring myself to put the full 3 stars. Cute but also felt like I was reading a Wattpad novel. I enjoyed the overall feeling of this but the ending felt very rushed to me.

The Boyfriend Lessons was a light, entertaining read. The premise was sweet but the idea around boyfriend lessons lost its focus about a 1/3 of the way in.

The plot and dialogue was a bit meandering but easy to follow and I was excited to pick it back up each night.

The setting and characters are interesting and I look forward to the other books in the series.

something about the dialogue between characters isn't working for me, it feels almost awkward or stilted.

This was such a cute little heartwarming book. I loved the fact that it’s a fast paced boy next door romance, but also the fact that Luke gets a redemption arch of sorts is really nice to read. The relationship growth between Luke and Olivia is amazing and to see good advice written this way is super helpful to follow. This book was an easy read and doesn’t end on a cliffhanger which is nice. I love how the author really captures the different personalities of her characters and you can really see that in the way they interact with each other. Reading this book just left me with a warm feeling inside that makes you just want to reread it.

I really enjoyed The Boyfriend Lessons. Luke and Olivia had great chemistry. Overall the story was very sweet with little conflict. I like Trevor and Aiden as well. I am excited to see more of Trevor and Emily bickering, their icy glares are quite entertaining.

This storyline, which occurs over 2 months max, contains:

- A wedding called off at the last minute after a 15 year relationship
- A bad relationship with a gambling addict which led to stalking
- An apartment break in
- An almost mental breakdown of a family member
- Severe unresolved childhood trauma
- No one liking their jobs
- Several people quitting their jobs
- An ex finance who was comically insulting to the FMM
- A week long work trip in Boston
- A three week family trip to Italy where the wise old grandmother gives sage advice.

The “boyfriend lessons” lasted about 10 pages, the rest is just…. stuff! It’s about everything and nothing at the same time!

Teleurstellend. Laatste 15 procent erg globaal gelezen.. over de lessen is weinig te merken. Hij viel erg snel voor haar. Haar zusje was echt irritant... En hij was opzich verder wel oke naast zn gebreken, maar het was niet oke dat hij het onveilig wilde doen omdat hij zo dom was geweest om niks mee te nemen... Verder was alle drama die niet door de mains te maken had, onnodig in dit verhaal

This was such a fun, heartwarming, adorable book to read right before Valentine's day! It was fast-paced and didn't have a lot of conflict which I found to be a nice break!

The characters in the book had such great chemistry and were entertaining to read! I had lots of giggles and moments where I swooned hard for Luke! It was really enjoyable to watch both characters become better while falling for each other. Luke's story of maturing and going after what he actually wanted in life was so refreshing to see! The book also had a nice dose of spice throughout, especially the chapters where Luke reads aloud a scene from one of Olivia's smutty romance books. I mean talk about steamy and hot! If you need to get in the mood for Valentine's or just want an easy, conflict-free, swoony romance then I highly recommend this book to you!

I loved this story! At first, I wasn't very invested but I grew to love Luke, Olivia, and all of the other characters. Some parts felt abrupt to me, such as the introduction of Luke's parents and Olivia's family. Also, some characters like Jared didn't really add much to the story. It felt like he just disappeared and I would have loved for there to have been more drama with him, personally. Since this is the start of a trilogy, it would be cool if some of the characters that were introduced in this book but didn't really have a big part in the story showed up later on too.

This reminds me of Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur, which is an amazing trilogy. I definitely recommend this if you liked that. They have a similar spice level and spice-to-plot ratio.

What a pleasant surprise!

I had no idea upfront that I would like this book so much. There is so much more to the story, and it is well-written.

The writting style had me hooked from the start and I loved that it wasn’t in the typical A-B-A-B point of view. The switch came when needed and complemented the story.

The story itself was surprising. After reading the intro, it wasn’t a surprise that Olivia and Luke would come together. But how their love evolved and the events around their relation definitely was.

Well-written, sucked me in from the start and loved every bit of it. And bonus: the story was leaving room to explore stories from the other characters, haha. Already curious if we will explore Trevis and her sister, and if there is more to his story with his ex fiancé.

Neighbors to friends to lovers. There really is no serious drama between them. Luke ends up not being at all what Olivia thought when she agrees to help guide him with women. They really end up helping each other a lot and fall in love along the way. They are very sweet, showing each other the best parts of the other. Her family is awesome, even when her sister has serious issues. They basically have her family and his friends. His friends are also amazing—dropping their lives to going on a “bro moon” when they are needed. I wish there had been more info given on what happened with Trevor, but I am guessing that will be in another book.

Luke feels like its falling apart. Being accused of being an uncaring boyfriend yet again. He turns to his neighbour for boyfriend lessons. Olivia, the shy librarian is quick to realise that Luke doesn't need lessons in being a good boyfriend and Luke is just as quick to realise that he's falling for his cute neighbour.
This is the first time I've read Jenna's work and I really enjoyed her story. She had developed a good story line that was enjoyable to read. While her characters were likeable and had us invested to find out if they found their HEA!!!.

well shit. it's been a very long time since i read a cartoon cover book that was written THAT WELL. only thing i wished for is for any of them to call trevor on his shit but that's probably gonna happen at some other point. anyway, luke and olivia are amazing together, and the way the work on communication together is just everything to me. i harp on about communicating so much in every review i write at this point but to be very honest, a lot of people in my generation lack this very specific skill so it's become quite important to me not just in romantic relationships but friendships too. but way to start of 2024 with a bang, this is definitely going to be one of my top reads for 2024.

Cute Read

I enjoyed reading this book. It started off with you scratching your head a little at the beginning. Not in a bad way, but in a way that has you relating with what the main female lead is probably thinking. I’m not sure why it does not have higher ratings but this was a cute little romance book. All of what was in it for me was relatable in different ways which made it easier to connect with the characters. There weren’t really any big twists but a couple things that had you shocked. Some good laughs and some steamy spice but not too spicy scenes. It’s a well balanced book and I look forward to reading the other ones.

The is a easy to read, slow build love story, turning steamy hot filled with good humour. This adorable couple with good chemistry and a book filled with interesting characters kept my interest throughout.

Do I see a top read for 2023 already? Yes, I do👀
This book was fast-paced and wholesome, the characters being relatable and sweet. I loved Luke and his redemption arch. He's a complex character and all, but I loved him.
Olivia's a very interesting character since I could relate to her. It was fun reading about those two having their moments and kind of finding themselves along the way.
I wish I could erase my memories, so I can read it again.
As of now, Jenna is a must buy author and I adore her writing!

3.2/5 - i just felt like there wasn’t much going on because i knew what was going to happen and few chapters in so the ‘plot twists’ just felt out of place and like the author was trying too hard to make it more interesting. the characters were fairly well written but the writing/dialogue was just straight up cringe or trying too hard and a lot of the characters just kinda of fell out of the picture but kudos to the author for kinda resolving were they all were towards the end. overall it was an easy read so i can’t complain much.

One Interruption After Another

Luke and Olivia follow a convoluted route from next door neighbors to a loving couple. The author seemed to relish creating major interruptions to their burgeoning relationship. I thought the boat scene was one of the best. You’ll have to read to get the whole story. Even though we know they’ll end up together, the story has enough plot twists to give you second thoughts. Nice character development of the protagonists and their circle of friends and family.

The premise sounded great, but unfortunately this book was awful, I should have DNF it but ended up skimming half of it. The main characters are supposed to be in their early 30s but are written like they are teenagers and the dialogue is really awkward. The spice was super cringy and I never felt like the main characters had anything in common or chemistry, they were just thrown together because they are neighbors. Only positive was no 3rd act breakup - they hit a little rough patch if you could call it that but they don’t break up. This definitely wasn’t for me.

This was a sweet, cute book with very little drama or angst. This book is about neighbors going from friends to lovers. Olivia and Luke live next door to each other. Olivia hears all the drama Luke has with his girlfriends and offers to help him become a better boyfriend. Luke ends up not being at all what Olivia thought when she decided to help. Olivia and Luke end up helping each other change and grow and fall in love along the way.

I loved the idea of this story albeit it was obviously going one way maybe we should have boy/girl friend lessons although that would not be considered “pc” today relationship lessons maybe 🤔

The romance was lovely very saucy at times the troubles real enough we could all relate too extended family included

Well written a lovely heartfelt story loved it

This was a good read. I feel like they should have said a little bit more of what happened with Jared and maybe a little more drama. But overall I really enjoyed the story especially the added conflict with Emily.

This friends to lovers, love story was very realistic. It followed the path of a normal relationship and had it's ups and downs. I definitely am interested in the stories of the other characters in the story, so I would loved to read the books that follow this up.

Olivia and Luke . . .

Olivia and Luke are neighbors. So when she one day overhears him get dumped by a girl, she feels sorry and invites him over for ice cream. They end up agreeing to “Boyfriend Lessons” for him. It turns out to be a fun time for both of them as they see another side to each other. But would they be willing to try a real relationship together?

Loved how their friendship started and how it grew into a beautiful healthy relationship for both Luke and Olivia. It didn't sugarcoat their insecurities and used their attraction for one another as distraction. Fingers crossed that there will be a book on Emily and Trevor.
