Topsy and Tim books are divided into five school; going out; special friends; first experiences; and people who help us. They present fun, factual stories dealing with new experiences and storylines suited to "read to" and older "self read" situations.
Jean Adamson was a British writer and illustrator of children's books. She was best known for the Topsy and Tim books, the first of which was published in 1960 and which have sold 27 million copies. Adamson's creations were also featured widely on television in 84 episodes of Topsy and Tim.
This book is a classic, up there with the greats such as 'pride and Prejudice' and 'great expectations'. The beautiful words explain their actions and the plot so simply that even a child could understand. the only reason for its 4-star rating is due to the fact that this was simply too short. I could only hope that this masterpiece was longer and my eyes would be blessed for a greater amount of time whilst reading this story. Truly beautiful.
I loved Topsy and Tim books when I was little and I have managed to source some for my little boy. We love reading them together and he has now started reading them to me!
