Songstress and teacher Angelle Cahill shouldn’t have been thinking about the gorgeous repairman fixing up her apartment building. She had a longtime boyfriend—maybe for too long. But every encounter with the stranger’s smoldering gaze and sexy-voiced small talk leaves her longing for more.

Linc Davis is not only renovating his grandmother’s property; he’s a hardworking real estate entrepreneur utterly undone by that sensuous distraction—the one he fantasizes about so much it keeps him up at night. Once he entices Angelle to tour one of his properties, the red-hot tension between them explodes into an insatiable sexual chemistry and a strong spiritual connection.

But lurking in the shadows is Linc's old friend Pope. With secrets as dark as his past, he gives Angelle such sinister vibes that she warns Linc to cut ties. Though will a long-ago tragedy make a break impossible? Or will the havoc his twisted friend unleashes destroy Linc and Angelle's bliss forever?

Angelle is becoming aware of her body now that she is in her late teens. Young and naive as she was, she has an encounter with an older man while staying with her uncle. This brought issues and consequences to Angelle’s life. Angelle then moves away with her mother to forget the ordeal that occurs. Years later, Angelle is in a relationship and chasing her dreams, and then she meets Linc. Linc is not what he seems to be which later buts a wedge in his relationship with Angelle. Linc manages to let Angelle feels excitement again as both felt a strong connection and passion for each other the moment they met. As time goes on a friend from Linc's past brings trouble to their happy life.

Never judge a book by its cover and that is what I did. There are two covers for this book and the one I saw was the cover on Amazon. I am so glad I followed my instinct and purchase this book to read. This story for me was amazing. The length of the book is 1390 but it did not read as a novella for me at all. With the length of the book, the author manages to follow Angelle from her late teen years to a mature woman. The gravitational pull between Linc and Angelle was really good and sexy to read. Both characters coming together in the book was sensual and teasing to the reader the moment they met.

Angelle had two relationships at different periods in her life but always gravitated back to Linc. First boyfriend Terence what a dush and Harrison he was ok. Angelle's relationship period with Linc brought a jealous friend from Linc's past, Pope, who really wanted Angelle and had a secret hated for Linc. That situation made for an exciting read with loads of drama and death.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and probably will reread again within a month. My hesitation with purchasing the book had to do with the product preview of the book. Sometimes I think the way a book preview sounds can discourage you from wanting to read a book. I really look forward to reading more books by the author from the old and to the new books, starting with the follow up to Bliss "The Lovers of Madera Beach ".

Storyline: GOOD
Intimacy: GOOD
Enjoyment: GOOD
