High-Yield™ Gross Anatomy, Fourth Edition provides the essential information needed for USMLE Step 1 review and course study. It is written from a clinical perspective to prepare students for clinical vignettes on the USMLE and thoroughly illustrated with drawings and radiographic images. This edition includes new tables on upper and lower extremity innervation. Images have been placed closer to the appropriate text, and keys in legends have been replaced by full labels on images. Many of the CTs and MRIs have been enlarged. Paragraphs of text are more concise.
This book is great for board prep in terms of both anatomy and some physiology. They mentioned pretty much every anatomical structure covered in a medical anatomy class in a very small book by glossing over minutia but focusing on clinically important structures and relationships, and then explaining why they become important by tying in clinical scenarios and examples of potential dysfunctions. Excellent illustrations, too.
This book is good to be read along with another review book like Kaplan and an atlas like netter , it also ties to the clinical sides of anatomy ... good ,not too much ,but with kaplan they cover each others weaknesses.
All I can say is that this review book saved my butt in gross anatomy on more than one occasion! The assigned text was Gray’s for Students but it was far too much to read on most nights so as a result, this book became my go to for exam review and pre-reading before class. Presents the most important concepts that you are likely to see in gross anatomy and I like that it has some commonly seen clinical correlates. Not sure if this book would make a good anatomy review to prep for the boards but its a great supplemental text for your classes.
One of the best anatomy books that i had ever read .. It is written from a clinical perspective to prepare physician for clinical vignettes on the medical practice and thoroughly illustrated with drawings and radiographic images.
