I just picked this book out of curiosity to know about adult ADHD, I am so thankful to the author for explaining ADHD in a very Lucid manner that he made such a complex subject matter appearance very easy to understand. It was only when I read this book did i realize that I was suffering from this condition right from my childhood without being aware of it and now that i could diagnose myself to be suffering from this common malady! In spite of me being a medical doctor its surprising that i never suspected myself of having ADHD !! I think anyone out there having difficulty focusing on their task, those finding it difficult to complete projects because of procrastination should read this book. the author has done extensive research on ADHD which is evident when one reads the book. this book will be a great help for psychologists and students of psychology, and I recommend this amazing book, I am extremely thankful to the author Garth Zeus.
I just loved this book! It has so much information and is apparent Garth is well researched. I think really any one can gain knowledge from this book even though it’s directed at men. Near the end was a quote, “My belief in myself, and my self-advocacy has created monumental change in the way I trust my own instincts but has also given me a wind of confidence that I can take control of my mental health.” How true that is!! You are the best advocate for yourself and your family over medical professionals!
Actually quite a good book, especially considering it seems to be self published. The citations are a bit wonky, but that is to be expected when there is no editor to provide feedback. The writing is approachable and uses accessible language to discuss ADHD, biology and various treatment modalities. Best of all? It helped someone I know make sense of his lived experience, which is the most important part.
This is a great resource that offers not only information and background about ADHD, but also addresses commonalities between men with ADHD through real-world examples and an empathetic, understanding voice. This is a thorough and developed read, one I recommend.
I really enjoyed reading this book which offers an excellent overview of the difficult topic. Mental health is really important and most of the times underestimated or misunderstood, specially for topics like adhd. This book covers important aspects and contributes greatly to the field.
Some pretty decent resources and ideas to help men understand their ADHD. I've never been formally diagnosed but have been told by my therapist that its very likely I've always had it, and this book really put some of my feelings and challenges over the years into perspective.
Worth a read if you're interested in learning about the topic as a start point to understanding.
Good solid content. More for people early in exploring their ADHD. 2/3rds of the book is mostly definitions and descriptions. Eventually you get useful practical advice but not really enough and seemingly less than what it promises in the description
Audiobook. Fairly short, but consistent.Takes on a wide variety of points connected to ADHD. Both explanatory and with hands on suggestions for remedy of symptoms. Would recommend for some early exploration of the phenomena ADHD among men.
Very enlightening and concise reading, would definitely recommend if you want a to the point insight in to your own experiences in managing late diagnosis ADHD.
Short but succinct. Quotes directly from studies with their sources and has some really solid practical tips and accommodations to try out. Def recommend as a starting point.
