Sad Pretty Things

Rate this book
This book is a collection of poetry written over a period of time, through various relationships, experiences, and emotions.

Originally, the individual poems were written as a means to process and navigate how it feels to be experiencing things like love and relationships, especially once they have ended, but together they represent something more. They represent a journey. A journey that is in some way, shape, or form, a shared human experience. The point of the book is for readers to finally be able to feel understood, like finally all those things they've been wanting to say for so long have been put into words, that they can finally make sense of their thoughts and feelings, and that despite how it might feel right now, there is still joy in the sadness. There is still beauty in the pain.

These poems made me feel so much. There is beauty in sadness and sadness in beauty and that is exactly what these poems told. I find myself grabbing it off my shelf every once in awhile to re-read some of them and remember that there is balance in life and I appreciate all of the sad pretty things.
