About the author

Josh McDowell is a bestselling Christian apologist, evangelist, and author of over 150 books, including Evidence That Demands a Verdict and More Than a Carpenter. Once an agnostic, he converted to Christianity while investigating its historical claims. He went on to earn degrees from Wheaton College and Talbot Theological Seminary. For decades, McDowell has been a prominent speaker with Campus Crusade for Christ, addressing issues of faith, character, and youth culture worldwide. His work emphasizes historical and legal evidence for Christianity and tackles challenges posed by skepticism and non-Christian beliefs. He lives in California with his wife, Dottie, and is the father of four children, including fellow apologist Sean McDowell.

Me gusto mucho, es actual, dinámico y realista, muy realista. Ojalá se tuviera más encuentra la necesidad de guiar a los jóvenes no en el camino correcto sino hacia la persona #Jesús.

La verdad tiene cosas que me gustaron mucho, sobretodo relacionadas al sexo y las relaciones, en especial los argumentos de la protección y la provisión fueron de mis favoritos.

En general la representación del pastor como padre me encantó, y la representación y crítica al actuar y la argumentación de algunos padres me parece muy realista y algo que aplica al día de hoy.

No estoy de acuerdo con algunas de las afirmaciones de la encuesta por lo cual algunas cosas me parecen confusas y demasiado envueltas en un cuadrado que la verdad si me parece muy conservador.


De las enseñanzas más interesantes para mí fueron las de la familia el hecho de que podemos distorsionar lo que pensamos con respecto a la familia y los amigos y de mis partes favoritas de los capítulos fue LA APLICACIÓN DE LA VERDAD.

Es un libro que ha impactado la manera de reflexionar en las Escrituras.
Si bien no encontré la definición de verdad absoluta (porque el propósito es el de reflexionar en las verdades que la Palabra de Dios nos muestra), sí encontré una manera en la cual podemos identificar los propósitos, beneficios y consecuencias de los valores cristianos.

Right From Wrong is a work that absolutely needs to be read by parents, youth workers, teachers and pastors. We live in a world where this coming generation does not believe in absolute truth, or things that are right in all places, all times and all situations. Relative truth is what runs the mindset of the majority of the people in our society; what's true for you may not be true for me and vice versa. But it not only runs in our society; this mindset is going through our youth in our churches.

Josh McDowell does a fantastic job of showing not only situations that involve absolute truth, such as sex, honesty, and family, but why they're true according to the Scriptures. He then gives evidence of the truth and how it provides and protects us from harm, be it emotional or physical, and provides important application so that parents and teachers can apply it to their own families and students. Most importantly, McDowell attributes it back to the Person of God.

Now this book was written over 20 years ago, but the principles you will find in this book still ring true. A great resource that should be shown to families in churches across the country.

The book does a great job in building a model to view absolutes (precept - principle - person). A story is intertwined in the teaching to make applications easier. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the dry statistical section that was part of the book and not an appendix. I kept expecting to see more application in that section. Overall, a definite re-read will happen in the future. I would recommend this for all parents of teenangers and college students as well as the students.

While this book has cheesy narratives and is overburdened with statistics from the study conducted, it does hold a lot of good information on moral/objective/ethical issues and concerns. Another critique is that the book seems to border on frenzy and hype in some areas. "We're losing our children!" might be the cry. However, the book is quality.

This is one of the best books anyone can ever read. Anyone from teenage years and beyond can glean excellent lessons from this book. I read this book when I was a parent with young teenagers and found it both inspirational and useful.

This book is logical, insightful and very helpful to parents, and youth leaders (teachers) wishing to help your children learn the basis for decision making. A must read for any concerned Christian parent wish his/her child to learn how to choose right and why this is pleasing to God.
