This was such an interesting read. I simply love it when people write texts that are intellectually sophisticated & brilliantly stupid (in the best way possible). The intellectual humor is simply delightful. As a Classics student, I especially enjoy his toying with Plato and Aristotle in the most absurd context.
Eco is writing for a slightly niche audience that I feel like I barely qualify for. The richness of his references takes a lot to follow up — it can be a bit boring when he alludes to works that are unfamiliar to the reader.
