From a glittering Stardust Martini to a Cognac Zoom, Atomic Cocktails blasts into the ether with more than 50 space-age cocktails. Tonic to tequila, Barbados rum to Scotch whisky, mood music to maraschino cherries, this book is for everyone who isn't sure what goes into a Gimlet and thinks Angostura is a kind of sweater.
It reveals the secrets that ardent swingers have spent years discovering, including the fundamentals of mixology and how to master all the classics. The repertoire includes cosmic concoctions, tropical exotica, summer coolers, hot shots, some real originals, and specials from the alcohol-free zone.
The authors also add a guide to essential ingredients and tips on mixing a drink with a knowing flick of the wrist -- plus how to serve it in the perfect glass with the perfect garnish. Come on you birds and hot daddies, it's happy hour!
Loved it! Great introduction and helpful tips/explanations. No assumption that we already own all the necessary gear, with good suggestions for purchasing the necessities for our home bar. Yummy sounding recipes and cute, vintage photographs - can't wait to start mixing!
Nothing too special here. I tried one of the cocktails, which was a Planters Punch that was just okay. I am interested in trying other recipes, but I was expecting more.
Cute book with a fun retro design including 50s/60s photos and artwork. Most of the cocktail recipes require ingredients that the average home bar will not have.
The cocktails in this book looked tasty and interesting, but a little too advanced for me (ie, they had more than 5 ingredients per cocktail). Loved the layout/design of the book though!
