This is a non-fiction rhyming picture book for kids (age 4-10). It embraces the father-child friendship from a little kid's point of view. The contradictions between some of the illustrations and the text were made purposely to entertain the readers with some humor and excitement. It's a good book to read at home or at school on father's day, or when a father visits his little child's classroom. Also, it can make a nice present to a father on his birthday or on father's day.
This is a very charming book about a boy who's best friend is his Dad. I'm sure most children can relate to it and the rhymes keep it flowing for even the youngest tykes. My only qualm is that, since it's British, some of the terminology may not be as familiar to American kids, i.e. most men here drink coffee, not tea and rarely would fathers and sons play "horsy and... knight. But the story is lovely and the illustrations clear and colorful so I'm sure it would be a hit with any child.
One of those unique books about son and father. The words flow bautifully to form a smooth poem. The illustrations add fun to the text especially when they twest the words on page 11. I did not like the expression on the boy's face on one of the pages where the boy takes the role of the father; he looks evil. Thank you Amal.
This is a cute children's book and how it came to be is heartwarming. My six year old son likes to read it with his dad, as it is about a father and son. The book is written in simple prose perfect for a child to read. This is a great bedtime story, especially for daddys to read.
I received this book free in the mail! I read it. It's a very short and sweet book about the importance of a father in his son's life. I made my son and husband read it, too!
