This is the second book I have read by Pat Ballard. Dubbed the "Queen of of Rubenesque Romances" I was sceptical of this book. I had read Dangerous Curves Ahead and honestly was not that impressed by it. This is a very easy read. So if you are looking for a complex book, this is not for you.

Having said that, I liked this book. I really rate it 3.5 stars so I rounded it up. But I like 3.5 stars better.

Hannah Rockwell has to be married by the time she turns 30. If she isn't she loses her inheritance from her beloved grandfather. This will also mean that her freeloading mother and brother will have to stop sponging off of her. Since her brother is desperate for Hannah not to be disinherited (he doesn't want to lose his free ride) he runs into a drunk Matt Corbert in a bar and gives him an offer he can't refuse.

Matt a once very famous rockstar has had all of his money stolen from his dishonest manager and is having to start from square one. Drowning his sorrowing in a shot glass, agrees to Hannah's brothers proposition.

Here is what I liked about the story.
I really liked Matt. He is NOT an alpha hero. He is a genuinely nice man who has come upon very hard times. He is instantly drawn to Hannah and is persistant in getting to know Hannah and drawing her out of her shell.
Matt is a very worthy (and hot) hero and I thoughly enjoyed reading about him. (they can't all be bad-assed Apha's...sometimes the nice guy has to win)

Here is what I DID not like about the story.
I did not like Hannah that much. She allows her horrible family say terrible things to her, and is easily manipulated by them. Luckily for her, Matt helps her see herself of being worthy of love and acceptance...but honestly I thought Matt deserved better. She is quick to jump to conclusions, and is quite testy with him at times. I wanted to call Matt myself and introduce him to some of my BBW friends, he deserved better.

But, this book was good. It is worth reading for the hero and for the interesting storyline.

Hanna Rockwell had to be married by the age of 30 according to her grandfather's will for her to inherit all of his money. During the reading of the will she finds out that her brother is on half that the limo driver is his father. Her mother was cheating on her father. Hanna loathes herself she is not a skinny girl. Her mother and brother treat her pretty crappy throughout the book. Anyways her brother found her a husband to marry it is someone she had a crush on when she was younger. In comes Matt a once famous rock star. He has his own money problems and when he was drunk he agreed to marry her. This was an interesting read and very enjoyable. I will not spoil the important parts of the book. Matt and Hanna do get married but you need to read to find out if they stay together.

HARD book to get through. The female lead acted like a sheep/doormat through the entire book, even when she was telling someone off. Her mother & brother acted horribly to her, she let it go. Her husband stayed out all night and wouldn't call to let her or explain why, she let it go. Her lawyer kept things from her and what did she do? That's right she let it go. And the ending, ugh. All the horrible people in her life all had personalities transplants and were suddenly nice & loving people. Honestly, two stars is really pushing it, one is probably closer to the truth but I'm feeling generous tonight.
