USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.
Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.
A great read. Good steam. This book followed Marlowe and Law. Marlowe is a billionaire heir and Law is a hardworking business owner that's trying to expand his business with the company owned by Marlowe's family. Marlowe works in Accounting and was sent to his company to audit before her dad makes the decision to work with Law's company or not. When they first met each other at a party her dad threw for clients, they didn't know each other's names. It was a surprise for Marlowe when she arrived to find Law waiting, shirtless, chopping woods. They both had the instant attraction when they laid eyes on each other but they played hard to get for a bit. Law has family issues and Marlowe has daddy issues. While working at his company, they settled their attraction head on and deal with the consequences later. I liked that this story has an epilogue. I like the supporting characters too. I didn't have the chance to read the previous books in the series but this story can still be read as a standalone.
Thank you Harlequin Books for the opportunity to read and review!

Marlowe has been sent by her father to inspect the books of the 4 Thieves Distillery. Marlowe is to determine if an investment into this business is worth it. But, Law has other ideas. He has had Marlowe on his brain since he ran into her at a party. Can Marlowe resist his charms…NO!
I read this book in one sitting…or rather one night of insomnia. I really enjoyed the characters. And there were places I laughed out loud. And of course, who can resist Law…ooooolala! And Marlowe! She is a smart lady with a kick!
Great job Cynthia St. Aubin!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.
Cynthia St. Aubin is a new-to-me author. I’m always willing to take a chance on someone I’ve never read before because I’ve found some pretty great reads by doing so. But this book fell a bit short for me.
It’s an opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers trope with instalove thrown in. The steam level is pretty high. I liked Law but had a hard time connecting with Marlowe. The language felt too flowery and formal to be enjoyable for me, but I know there are plenty of readers out there who love it. If that’s you, please do give this book a try. I was also left wanting a bit more backstory from both main characters. It’s the 3rd book in the series, so perhaps reading all of the books in order would have made it a more enjoyable read for me. I’d recommend NOT starting with this one and reading them all in order.
Even though I wasn’t blown away by the book, the author did write it well, and I really did enjoy the relationships the main characters had with their siblings who appeared here. So if instalove with more flowery/formal language is what you tend to read, you’ll probably really like it.
This is my 1st time that I am reading a book by Cynthia St. Aubin and this is the 3rd book in the “The Kane Heirs Series”. I must that I will definitely go back and read the 1st and 2nd book in this series. This is a great read that is entertaining, witty, romantic, steamy, great characters, with a wonderful plot that the takes the readers on a romantic journey with Law and Marlowe.
Marlowe is a billionaire heiress. Law is the owner of 4 Thieves Distillery and he is looking for Marlowe’s father to invest in his company. Marlowe and Law meet at a party that Marlowe’s dad is having. When the two meet there is an instant attraction. Marlowe’s ex arrives at the party and he wants to talk to Marlowe he wants Marlowe to take him back. Marlowe’s ex is being a jerk and Law is there to rescue her. Marlowe is an accountant and her dad sends her to audit 4 Thieves Distillery books. It was so cute that when Marlowe arrives Law is chopping wood with his shirt off and he looking sweaty, hot and oh so sexy. Marlowe meets Law’s brother Remy has a restaurant at 4 Thieves distillery and his daughter Emily. Emily is such a cutie pie and she takes an instant liking to Marlowe. Emily’s mom Remy married fast and divorced after 6 months. Emily’s went to visit friends and never returned. Both Marlowe and Law have family issues they are dealing with and have to overcome. All in all I truly enjoyed reading about, Law, Marlowe, Remy and Emily.
Will Marlowe convince her dad to invest in 4 Thieves Distillery, will Marlowe and Law together get thru their family issues and have an HEA, will Emily’s mom ever return to see her?
I received an ARC via NetGalley HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Harlequin Desire and I am leaving my review voluntarily. Thank you NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Harlequin Desire for giving me the opportunity to receive an ARC of “Bad Boy With Benefits”.
Bad Boy With Benefits by Cynthia St. Aubin A Sizzling Kane Heirs Novel Book #3
Prepare to embark on a passionate journey as you dive into the pages of this electrifying novel. What unfolds between two individuals hailing from vastly different worlds is a night of irresistible, fiery desire that neither can deny.
Marlowe Kane stands as a formidable force, not only due to her brilliant intellect but also her compassionate heart, fueled by the belief that her family can eventually find healing over time. However, when she becomes entangled with the enigmatic Renaud Brothers, she discovers that her father’s agenda will lead her down an unexpected path.
From the moment Law Renaud lays eyes on Marlowe Kane, he knows that his life is about to endure significant upheaval, impacting not only himself but also his brothers and the cherished Four Thieves Distillery. Yet, it’s his heart that will suffer the most profound transformation. Can he find his footing before it’s too late?
Cynthia St. Aubin, a newfound author in my literary journey, has left me yearning for more of her work. I was captivated right from the initial connection between Law and Marlowe. Their struggle for the impossible drew me in, despite their secret desires for something more.
Bad Boy With Benefits weaves a tale of two families burdened by their fair share of drama and heartbreak within their ranks. Can all the key players come to terms with their past and find healing? I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected twists in the plot of this enthralling novel. These twists only deepened my admiration for Cynthia St. Aubin. Now, I’m eagerly setting off to explore the preceding books in the Kane Heir Series.
Ah, Harlequin Romance, the books all of our moms used to read. My mom called them “lust and leisure” books. Well holy shit, mom, this book is smutty- you are a little perv and I like it.
Marlowe has a rich waspy name bc she is just that- a billionaire’s daughter. She lives a boring, vanilla rich person’s life and works for her dad as a comptroller- the least sexy sounding job on the planet. She meets dark and mysterious Law (hot guy name) at a party when he rescues her from the open mouthed kiss of her ex-fiancé Neil (douchelord name).
Marlowe and Law meet again when she shows up at his distillery to review his financial records before her dad invests in his company. And then a storm hits and she is stranded. So she does what any professional buttoned up wealthy white lady would do- she gets drunk and fucks. Obvi.
Listen, Law is def not a bad boy. He’s a GOOD BOY. He gifts Marlowe with 7+ orgasms and one squirt on their first foray into sexay times. The only questionable decision he makes is not using a condom, bc sure lets rawdog with a total stranger in 2022. Other than that this man is a whiskey drinking, hunk of man saint. If he was mine I’d pass him around to all my friends so they could enjoy his gifts as well. It’s what best friends do.
Well my secretly smutty mom didn’t lead me astray. This book was great. It had everything I needed- sex, sex, hot dude, good story, sex. I will read more from this author for sure! Def recommend.
This book is a decent book as long as you know what you’re getting into. It’s a Harlequin Romance. I expect it to be short, to burn hot and fast. It’s a consumable. And that’s fine.
I actually was impressed on how good of a feel you got for the characters. I like how you also really got to k ow Law’s family. Marlowe and Law had awesome chemistry at the distillery.
But their reunion was a bit lackluster. For starters, I hate surprise pregnancies. Especially when the woman is on BC. (Also annoying: him just taking her at her word and also no discussion on diseases which is another reason to use a condom.)
And for a guy who is constantly touted as one to protect those he loves…. He was decidedly unprotective when it came to her father. And while I did appreciate that Marlowe stood up to her father, I kinda hoped there would be a better balance.
And I expected more heat. More grand declarations. The things I had seen earlier in the book. I didn’t even get an on screen “I Love You.”
The book was a little disappointing but I still wouldn’t say it’s bad. And if you’re looking for something fun and easy to read, this is good for that.

Those Kane’s really know how to reel them in. Marlowe Kane, youngest sister to twins Samuel and Mason, is the financial whiz for Kane Food Industries. Finally out of her miserable relationship with the weasel fiancé she’s free to be herself. Law, owner of a distillery, is seeking partnership with the Kane company to expand his business. Once Marlowe was sent to “check” his financials for the millionth time their zing was set to break all barriers. She finally let loose with a man who let her be her. The two of them were instantly on each other’s radar and never let go. There’s a ton of heat in this book but the other important stuff is there too, like humor, feelings, talk of family history. It hits all the spots and then some. Marlowe’s story comes third in the series, she’s in the others also, but each book stands alone with separate romances and an ongoing family storyline. I was lucky to get an early copy and wrote my review voluntarily.
This starts with a party at which Marlowe Kane's ex Proves he doesn't understand "No" and so he does vex The stranger who stops him from upsetting her more Who intervenes to even up the score.
The stranger is Law Renaud, who protects whenever he can But he's a business man for whom Marlowe's father has a plan. When she's sent to audit the business as part of the deal She'd no idea how being with him would make her feel!
Get ready for steamy liaison and more As together these two possibilities explore. But her Father's plans could their dreams thwart Especially if she behaves as her father believes she ought.
A story where fathers aren't necessarily the supportive kind But family and friends do their best to be kind. A steamy romance as they get to know each other But both will end up having words with their own brother!
For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you, I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.
It delivers on everything a Harlequin romances is supposed to deliver on. We are thrust right into the action with Marlowe and Law having a run-in at an event hosted by her father. Marlowe then visits Law’s distillery on behalf of the family business and sparks fly. A stop keeps them trapped and things heat up before a misunderstanding tears the two apart. I read the book in about an hour in one sitting. It was just entertaining fluff which is exactly what it should be. I loved that both Marlowe and Law were on page together for most of the book and in the moment’s there weren’t physically on the page together they were thinking about one another. This is an open door romance and the characters are definitely attracted to each other physically. I could see the end coming from before the half way point and it is not how I would have ended things, but it fit the tropes. Thank you to Harlequin for the gifted copy.
My Review: Bad Boy with Benefits was excellent! Period. The end.
My Final Say: This book was so good that I have to read the Kane series. More than that, I want to know - must find out - all about Law's brothers! Bravo Ms. St. Aubin. That is how you do it.
Much appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher, and to NetGalley, who provided access to a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own and have not been influenced in any way by the aforementioned.
Marlowe's father is considering investing in 4 Thieves Distillery. He sends her to review their account books. A storm strands her on-site with rugged co-owner Law, and the two get caught up in an attraction they can't resist. Will secrets come between them?
Marlowe and Law are so sweet together. He instinctively seems to see beneath her façade and understand what she needs. It's an emotional and heartwarming novel.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I heart Law! I think that he has just moved up to be in my top three book boyfriends.
The banter and depth of this story is really surprising in a great way. I think that Marlowe and Law both grew in the stories in their own ways, but how in touch with everything Law was made him shine. I think that if you are looking for a great read, with a surprise twist at the end, this is a great vacation/ holiday / weekend read.
Marlowe is one awesome gal and her book was a great addition to the series! She's met her match in Law. When the 2 first see each other there's steam, in more than ways than one, and it just gets hotter when she goes out to his company to review his financials. It's a funny, hot story with family that butts their noses in, dogs and shoes, and little girl who makes you smile. Plus a surprise ending! I definite must read!
There is so much to love in this story! Law will be your next book boyfriend. Marlowe has intrigued me in the previous books so getting to know her was great. And eye opening. These are complex characters with chemistry off the charts. There is sexy, steamy romance. Plenty of humor and just the right dose of angst. The axe throwing scene was my favorite part. I'm going to miss the Kane siblings and I really hope we get a series with Law's siblings!
I got a copy of this book and pretty much devoured it as soon as I started. You will not have to have read the 2 previous books in the series in order to enjoy this one, though it never hurts. I loved the storyline and I agree with another reader and will make Law my new book-boyfriend. There was a lot of steamy lovemaking and for me the book finished too soon, I wanted more of Marlowe and Law. Very entertaining and steamy read.
I mean I was sold at axe throwing and distillery. I just started reading this one. I love a good opposites attract romance! This was a sweet short read about a company comptroller and a distillery owner trying to get funding. Omg the chemistry between these two was immediate. But she didn’t think it would work out and it was only for a short period of time. Though they couldn’t stop thinking of eachother. I loved the trickiness of her brothers and the twist. I need to pick up the other books in this series! Thank you harlequinromance and netgalley for the gifted copy.
Marlowe was in the background of the previous two books so was glad together to know her. She is a straight shooter. When she sees Law at a party they both ogle each other. Her father sends her to audit at Laws company. When there she gets more than she bargained for! The heat coming off of both of them leaps from the pages! It wss hot! This series was really god! I loved each of them!
This was A Story With Great Potential, But It Really Wasn’t A Romance. But More Of A Sex Feast. The Couple Have No Connection Outside The Bedroom. A Romance To Me Is Seeing A Couple Can Make It In The Long Run, This Couple I Can’t See Making It Past Next Month I Was Of The Mind To Give It Two Stars, But It Didn’t Put Me To Sleep.
Great story filled with passion and lots of emotions. Law and Marlowe were made for each other and fit perfectly together. The third and the final story in The Kane Heirs series this one was favorite out of the other two stories. Glad Marlowe and Law found each other and got there HEA well deserved!
Having read several books by this author, I was looking forward to this book. Maybe not quite as engrossing as her other books but still a decent read. I received an e-book, digitally, from NetGalley in return for an unbiased and voluntary review.
Bad Boy with Benefits is the third book in The Kane Heirs series and is a steamy romance that will keep you turning the pages. The heat coming off of the main characters with their undeniable chemistry leaps from the pages!
I have Enjoyed the whole series. This book was steamy funny and had two characters I enjoyed getting to know. It was also fun to see some of the family again. I Love that Cynthia gives us some steamy scenes and the humor. I just Love everything she writes!
