While I'm slightly biased towards this book as a student at Washington State University, this was a great picture book for children. I created a musical lesson plan based off of this book and would love to use it in my classroom to show students where I am from. It is an extremely simple book and very easy to read. Many words are repeated allowing young readers to learn new words quickly. The illustrations were bright and enjoyable to look at. In addition, the book gives you a brief overview of popular buildings and locations at Washington State University. Butch, WSU's mascot, gives a tour throughout the book building Cougar Spirit among the people he sees! You can't help but finish this book and say, "Go Cougs!"
This wonderful book my practicum teacher gave me at the end of my 10 weeks in her classroom. It has a fantastic plot that takes place at Washington State University. This piece of children's literature could be used to get students excited at any age but especially younger kids about college and about Washington State University.
I like football, and I totally understand team spirit, but this book represents pretty much everything I do not like in a children's book: boring text and sloppy illustrations.
